Hoping against hope, I gave The Mansion another try after much time had passed since my last Yelp review. Perhaps I was seduced by the establishment’s expanded name, with “And Eatery” added. I was disappointed to find that The Mansion remained the same diner, with mediocre, grossly overpriced food. To add insult to injury, they have added a surcharge onto the bill if paid by credit card. In addition, since I live across the street, I am treated to an unobstructed view of the outdoor dining space. With its corrugated metal roof and overall cheap, tasteless appearance, it looks like a cross between a rural woodshed and an ancient, long-abandoned Greyhound-type bus. On top of this monstrosity are six, yes, count ‘em, six large American flags, placed there perhaps to draw attention or make some kind of patriotic statement. On Saint Patrick’s Day, there was loud music emanating from the place, the display of Irish spirit enhanced by a team of Irish dancers and a loud approving crowd. Mind you, this side of the Mansion sits on an otherwise beautiful, 100% residential and unusually quiet street. It is my fervent hope that the City authorities soon order the removal of this, and...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at The Mansion, and I must say, it was a remarkable experience! The Mansion is definitely popular with the residents of Yorkville. comfort, making it an ideal setting for a memorable meal.
The standout feature is undoubtedly the quality of the ingredients. You can truly taste the difference when fresh, high-quality ingredients are used, and The Mansion does not disappoint. Every dish exemplified a commitment to excellence, which made the meal feel worth every penny.
I particularly enjoyed the Smash Burger, which is now one of my favorites! The blend of flavors was exceptional, and the texture was perfectly crispy on the outside while remaining juicy on the inside. Additionally, the salads were a delightful complement, showcasing a refreshing mix of ingredients that added brightness to the meal.
Overall, The Mansion is well worth the price for anyone looking for a dining experience that emphasizes quality and flavor. I highly recommend it to anyone seeking a great meal in a beautiful setting. I can’t wait to return and try more of...
Read moreThe 5 stars are mostly bc Alex, our waitstaff was so lovely and thoughtful and kind. She thought of the smallest details for us and asked if we needed anything several times. It’s always about the feed people and not just the food. We had a veggie omelette with sourdough toast and has browns. The veggie omelette was good, but not fluffy. Sourdough Toast was okay. The hashbrowns were good with lots of crunchy areas which I love There is plenty of outdoor and indoor seating and there are two sections for indoor seating. There is also a bathroom that you walk up about four steps up. The first level and outdoor seating is totally accessible for wheelchairs, which is great and they even have two tables that accommodate wheelchairs (see pic). It seems like this place has been here over 70 years and It’s still here. A lovely the overall dining experience. Oh I love th individual trash bins on each table! ...
