I’m writing to express my deep disappointment with the service I received today — quite frankly, it was the worst I’ve ever experienced at your store.
I come here regularly after picking up my kids from school to buy a cream cheese bagel. It’s a small but important routine for us because they love it, and it keeps them energized after school. But today, I was treated with a level of disrespect that was completely unacceptable.
When I placed my usual order, the male staff member at the counter made a sarcastic comment — something like “forever” — in a very unfriendly tone. Then, when my bagel was ready, he didn’t even call me. I was wearing earphones, yes, but the volume was not loud at all. If someone had called me even at a normal tone, I would have heard it. I waited and waited, only to realize that my bagel had been sitting on the counter the entire time — no one let me know.
Let me be clear: whether a customer comes in just for a bagel or for a full meal, every paying customer deserves basic respect and proper service. It’s not about what I ordered — it’s about how I was treated.
This kind of attitude is not okay, and it has made me seriously reconsider coming back. I hope you take this feedback seriously and make sure all customers are treated with respect, regardless of the size of...
Read moreHudson Market really knows how to make a loyal, paying customer feel like absolute garbage. I come in daily—coffee, sandwich, routine stuff—and the guy behind the grill with the backwards hat still acts like I’m interrupting his day every single time. Today, he topped himself and told me he “doesn’t have time” for me. Must be exhausting having to do your actual job.
So I did the reasonable thing and mentioned it to Chris, the manager—who, in a refreshing display of leadership, literally said he doesn’t care. Stellar service all around. Clearly, customer satisfaction isn’t even in their vocabulary.
And just when I thought it couldn’t get worse—I noticed rat droppings near the buffet. Yes, rat droppings. So on top of being treated like a nuisance, you can enjoy a potential health hazard with your overpriced food. What a bonus.
If you’re into miserable employees, managers who proudly don’t give a damn, and the occasional rodent souvenir by the salad bar, Hudson Market is your spot. For...
Read moreVery mixed experience here. Today the guy at the coffee bar charged me a dollar extra because my latte was decaf... He said Starbucks charges extra for decaf - which his completely untrue, and he looked at me like I was crazy for disputing his argument. (I just verified in the Starbucks app that a regular grande latte and a decaf grande latte at Starbucks are both $3.49 to be sure.)
Another cashier a few weeks ago started giving me a "regular customer" discount because I have been buying breakfast and lunch there several times a week, but then the store manager interrogated me a week later in the cashier line in front of other customers about why I would think I should get a discount. No more "regular customer" discount.
This place has a good selection of fresh food, smoothies, pastries, etc. and the place is clean which is why I'm not giving it 1 star. They just are missing it with the way they treat...
