Concrete is truly a Bushwick gem. The facade does not do it justice, it has a bright and spacious interior. Although we didn’t experience it during our visit, they have a stage set up for live music.
We had the pleasure of meeting the owners, Candace and Francesco, who were both warm and inviting, making us feel right at home. The food was absolutely delicious, with several vegetarian options to choose from. Our favorites were the Meatballs, Mozzarella in Carrozza, Lasagna, and the Fried Chicken Sandwich. 1000000/10
As for the less favorite dishes, the P&N Salad could use a little more love, and the Pesto Pasta didn’t quite hit the mark for me. The mint was a bit too heavy. However, that’s just personal preference.
The drinks were phenomenal. My husband is an “on the rocks” type, and I prefer fruity (but not too sweet), and we both equally loved the cocktails we tried. We had the Over the Counter and the Concrete Brooklyn, and while both were great, the Over the Counter was our favorite.
What really impressed us was how well-priced the food was for the quality, taste, and service. We went to a Michelin-starred restaurant in BK the week before, and our experience at Concrete was far superior.
This place has definitely become a new go-to for us. We can’t wait...
Read moreI moved into the area in early 2021. It’s now 2023 and Concrete has been and remains my favorite restaurant in the city. Yes, the city. I’ve ate all over the city. I’ve managed to get reservations into otherwise impossible places. Nothing tops Concrete to me. To start, you must get to know the crew who runs it. They are hospitable, caring, and have really went above and beyond for me several times. Everything is made with love and it’s not hard to tell. I take friends here regularly and I especially take anyone visiting the city. There’s options for most any diet restrictions I could think of. The pasta is phenomenal, the burgers are phenomenal (their beyond burger is my favorite I’ve ever had), the fries are superior to anywhere. If you get the fries, ask for a side of their honey mustard, you’ll be asking for another side of it soon enough. Grab a cocktail if that’s your sort of thing also. On weekends for brunch, I’d suggest the blood orange mimosa! Don’t let the area confuse you, this place is top notch. It’s been my best kept secret but I guess it’s time I share with the rest of the world. 10/10 worth the travel to try this place out. Oh, and the ambiance of the place is so relaxed but chic. Ask about their jazz nights that are coming soon also....
Read moreUpdate dropping to 1 star - we went on Dec 13th '20, last day for indoor dinning to support a local restaurant. Bad choice, they deserve to close. Owner/Mgr Francisco was rude AF to my wife when at leaving and paying the bill she mentioned that our app came out cold...we didn't even send it back cause felt bad for businesses during these lockdowns. We've either dinned in or ordered out from here 20 or so times, but will never do so again. The hostess/bartender/waitress wearing multiple hats was the only redeeming quality about the joint. ............. Update dropping from 5 to 3: I have been for brunch and thoroughly enjoyed it, however I did a take order for dinner recently and it left a lot to be desired. We ordered the burger and chicken sandwich and both were just Okay - mediocre at best. Both Items seem like they come prepackaged and are just heated up. The chicken is pre-breaded and then fried and the burger patty comes already made and then just put it on the grill like a fast food place. The fries, both potato and sweet potato, were good, but I won't be ordering either of these items again. The pasta is good from experience - so go there for that, but SkyTown, across the street has Far...
