I rarely do takeout reviews, but at the start of 2025 I said this was the year of growth and facing my fears, so here goes nothing: It was a picturesque New York Summer Day: Gloomy, 91 degrees, and a dew point of 71 which is essentially air you can swim in. Our group was debating what to Doordash for lunch, and the group leader confidently pitched Court Street Grocers. He's the group leader, so I just went with it. I got the Clean Turkey Sandwich, because I have an upcoming Mexico trip and I'm tryna lean out. I also added Bacon, because I'm a BEAST. I won't lie, this sandwich was fantastic. It just tasted clean, with bread that felt like it had been made the day of. Fresh bread is one of my simple pleasures in this life. However, I didn't realize it was going to come out to $20 with bacon added. While I loved this sandwich, for $20 I would have wanted WAY more Turkey. I wanted that Turkey to be BUSTING out the bread. The juice just wasn't worth the squeeze for me, but such is life in New York City. IG @jnov_ Tiktok @jnov__

An unassuming and narrow little shop, with a vast menu put up on the wall. It was overwhelming trying to decide what I wanted, but it means that there are plenty of things for me to return to try. There are also an abundance of options if you have some sort of dietary restriction, they’ve got you covered. Not much space to sit and eat, so my friends and I walked nearby to the park to sit down. An odd choice, but I ordered an anchovy sandwich? I don’t know what I was expecting, but the anchovies were incredibly salty and overpowering. I won’t be ordering that one again. This is the kind of place you go to for a quick and easy lunch, in a city like New York it doesn’t particularly stand out, but it’s still good.

Was compelled to write a review given some of the poor ratings I read prior to eating here. It’s fire, well the sandwich I had was. I kept it simple and got the Americano and from this I can tell this place is doing the Lords work! As far as service, It was normal. The young lady didn’t ask or say anything to me until I was finished looking at the menu which is totally reasonable. She brought my sandwich to me in about 10 minutes as I was sitting outside, she didn’t have to I guess! Good spot!

This is a five star review when it comes down to the food and three star (generously) review when it comes to the service. More specifically, the time it takes to get served and then the time it takes to get one's delicious sandwich. We went at lunch time on a recent unseasonably warm Sunday. The line was about 4-5 patrons long yet the combination of in-store patrons and online orders overwhelmed the two employees - one taking orders and completing the bagging of orders, a second dedicated just to making sandwiches. Everyone was extremely nice and apologetic about the long wait but 25 minutes to get one's order does feel a bit much. That said, the food is indeed delicious. I had a top notch Reuben and my wife a breakfast sandwich she rated A+. Prices are at the higher end (although that boundary is continuously challenged in the neighborhood) but worth it if you have the patience to wait. We will certainly go back but either order ahead or pick a...

The sandwiches are fantastic but the snotty service is unacceptable. First, although their naming convention for orders ready has been updated to digital, it’s extremely hard to read with the glare of the glass — so the team inside literally sat and watched the two of outside for nearly 10 minutes after ready and never let us know. Mind you, there was no other people in line - and they didn’t bother telling us. Then, after realizing that they had the order wrong, due a dietary need I had requested the sandwich hot, I asked for it to be heated as we were running behind schedule. They took it upon themselves to make a new one, when I asked them specifically not to due to timing, which then took another 10 minutes. All in all the sandwiches are great but do not expect...
