Crave Astoria — Restaurant in New York

So I wasn't too happy with the service provided the menu is outdated.. also what i ordered didn't come with everything that it says it comes with on top of that I received the wrong order I was given pork instead of chicken what I originally asked for.. I don't see coming back here the place is small.. it looked like there was possibly would be alcohol because of the photos... I was told once I got to the restaurant that they dont have alot of items on the menu anymore...on top of everything wrong the person who took our order told us it would take 10 to 15 mins for our food and we waited over 30 to almost an hour for our food. As we were patiently waiting there were so many mobile orders going out the door.. instead of our order being made first. Had a bad experience.. and also. My significant other asked when we would be getting our food and was told we would need to wait another 5 mins... first and last...

I would give these guys more stars if their delivery personnel wasn’t terrible. They take over an hour delivery for simple orders like a salad and a beverage. When I called them the woman was no help at all just letting me know it’ll be delivered soon (25 minutes later on top of the 1+ hour of waiting).

Their food as far as it goes is subpar. It isn’t necessarily authentic Greek food as their menu has fusion options such as “kung fu plate”. Their hummus was terrible and overly greasy/oily just like their plates. My best bets are the baby arugula salad with falafel or chicken, the grape leaves, and their potato fries.

Updated: Their menu is hit or miss. The pretzels are good, I’m a fan of their split pea soup and probably the only one as my lentil soup had no flavor. Their lemon vinegarette chicken and BBQ wings are some of the better options for take out and can feed two people...

Unfortunately, this is my last go with Crave - decided to give them another chance after a raw burger incident and as they really held it down during the pandemic.

This time I ordered one of their pork souvlaki pitas - honestly couldn’t even tell you what it tasted like as the pita was burnt and everything tasted as such.

I tried the sautéed onions and mushrooms on it and they were devoid of any seasoning.

A somewhat saving grace - they have these pasties pies now with various fillings. I had one with potatoes, leeks and onions and it was pretty tasty!

I pray that they give a serious talking to their prep lines and chefs for more...
