Cronin and Phelan's — Restaurant in New York

I took my wife to the Cherry Blossom day at Randall's Island, and on the way home we stopped in at Cronin's and Phelan's. We currently reside in Forest Hills but 25 years ago we lived around the corner from C&P's. I ordered a BACON Cheese Burger, medium well, CRISPY BACON and a Marguerita on the Rocks with salt. The Marguerita arrived in a glass that I would expect a frozen Marguerita in. I informed the waitress and it was moved to "rocks" glass. Admittedly there is some variation on serving Marguerita's, but while it was being made the Bartender loudly commented on Marguerita's. I got the impression that he didn't know what he was doing. So I go my Marguerita on the rocks as specified - oops NO SALT. At this point I thought better than to send it back.

The food arrived, OOPS - not our food. Mix-ups happen.

The food arrived, OOPS Bacon was floppy and fatty NOT CRISP. This was corrected and I ordered a SECOND MARGUERITA. OOPS - No Salt!

The food was good, although the French Fries were not as hot as I would like, probably due to the return for CRISPY BACON.

Bill came to $40 something with an even $4.00 as tax - I left $8.00 as tip.

I think we caught them for a late lunch so they weren't as attentive as they could have been.

Bartender should not be commenting on a customer having a Marguerita Waitress should not have brought wrong meal to table. Waitress is final inspector or QUALITY Control and should have made sure of salt on rim for marguerita(s) - BOTH. QUALITY CONTROL on CRISPY BACON - waitress again.

Came here tonite for a private Celebrity Dinner in the party room I’ve been here many times before for different parties First time I am doing a review tho The party room in the back is very large and roomy - I never feel like I’m closed in when I come here On the menu we had a salad or soup first - I ordered the salad which was great I had a glass or red wine and also a glass of coke The waitresses here are very friendly , quick and efficient - no waiting a long time at all My main course I orders the Turkey with mashed potatoes , gravy and broccoli The food came hot and super sized portions I had a pile of sliced turkey on my plate that could feed 3 people nicely The mashed potatoes were great and so was the broccoli Later we were served coffee and plates of dessert which I chose the chocolate lava cake which was delicious

Had a great time here as usual - this place is Awesome and the atmosphere is just the same - Awesome Thank you Cronin & Phelan for a super fun...

Very very good food! Our first time here after having heard about it for forever. Good wings, but my partner's shepherd's pie (although made with beef) was the winner, perfectly spiced and delicious. My Jameson chicken was very good as well. Enormous portions and we each brought a large amount home. Best soda bread I've had outside Ireland.

Very friendly attentive service. It was a little hard to hear due to all the hard reflective surfaces and music playing and cheerful people talking, but this was a great place. We'll be back, and are especially interested in the Sunday roast.

Update: back for shepherd's pie and a salad - splitting everything bc the portions were huge. Great food and...
