Custom House — Restaurant in New York

For my pre birthday year I decided to start it off here since I heard good things about this place and boy was I surprised . The place was clean and spacious and fairly empty that evening when arrived . The mussels was delicious and I was told the chicken was good as well . The food arrived in a timely manner . However I would not suggest to get drinks from there . The two drinks we got was watered down with no taste of liquor . When asked can I get a new drink I was told it was suppose to taste that way ? It was not suppose to taste that way . That’s why I bought another drink which was a martini and that was fine . I’m not a drinker still I know the value of a good one .For 15 dollars a drink it should not taste like water so it’s unacceptable . That in turn changed the vibe of me being there so I won’t return . Part of the experience for dining out is the experience and the environment. So for yay...

The Custom House - is probably one of the last great Irish bars left in this great city. Rather than hanging shamrocks all over the place to show their allegiance to Ireland - we get awesome drinks, great food and that good old Irish charm they are so famous for. The bar tenders must have been extras for Sam Malone of Cheers fame mixed with Tom Cruise Cocktail flair and mixology ability cuz they all are super chill and cool as hell to talk to. There is this one old guy - his name escapes me now but I think he is the manager - you would think he just came off the plane from Dublin. He was so nice to us and made us from like family. I have tried to give this place a chance, multiple times, since it could be considered my local bar. They charge for seltzer water, even when ordering other stuff (on multiple occasions). They play the same playlist everytime I go in. The food isn't anything to write home about. I held off from writing a review, but the last time I went in, I wanted to watch my alma maters's basketball game and only ordered a coke. The bartender put on the game but when I said I didn't want food he threatened to turn off the game since "no one was joining me" and "I only ordered a coke".
