The neighborhood, in which this establishment is located, seems to be a quiet and peaceful one. It's actually no different once you enter the restaurant and that's important for me. I want to be able to feel comfortable and have peace of mind wherever I go, especially while spending money. I've never encountered any rowdy crowds or any drama whatsoever when coming here. You won't have to worry about language barriers because there are employees who speak English as well. There's nothing more I hate than exploring foods from other cultures and not being able to be serviced due to not being verbally understood. The food here is delicious and might I add that I'm always satisfied with the amount of food given. The attitudes of the staff are laid back, middle of the road I'll even say. It's not negative or over the top jumping for joy, but it's respectful just the same. Don't expect fancy decor, rather...

We traveled by Uber from a meeting in queens to get here. What first struck me as very strange was that the restaurant was set up w a long dining room table style seating, which was not welcoming at all! The woman behind the plastic at the cashier window said, "What do you want?" Er, Excuse me??! We then asked to see a menu to which she pointed at a taped menu with the tiniest writing for my 82-year-old guest for lunch. Then, she had the bright idea to let us know that all they had at the time was fish or chicken and rice. Now, what was the point of pointing us to that eye chart menu??? GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE SETS THE TONE FOR ENJOYING A MEAL and paying for said meal w gratuity. That said, we walked our arses right up out of there! Never, ever again! She might do well to accustom herself to properly talking to customers. They might get away w that in Africa but won't fly...

Great Senegalese/West African food with huge portions at decent prices. We were shocked at the amount of food we got for $20 (enough for at least 2 meals). While the ambience of the shop might not be great or the staff super friendly, the food and price is what makes it great and why I would recommend it.

The options are usually a protein and a carb and the protein portion is big, fowl would be an entire fowl, fish would be an entire fish etc. The carb options were vermicelli, couscous, rice, fries etc. They also have West African drinks.
