It was a truly dreadful experience. I’ll break it down. Great atmosphere is about the only good thing I can say. We ordered our drinks. They did come out in a reasonably timely fashion. I got Los Horcones. It’s a mezcal drink. I love mezcal. The drink was terrible. There was an acceptable amount of mezcal in the drink, but it tasted like there was only water and lemon added to it. It’s supposed to include grilled pineapple. Not only did I not taste that, it was garnished with a lemon. I might have just had lemon water. 🤷🏿♀️ My husband also had a mezcal drink, El Hakal. It tasted like mezcal with Minute Maid. For $13? I was not impressed. For food, we ordered nachos and 2 tacos each. It al came out at the same time, so there we were struggling to fit the food on the table and eat it. That was annoying. The tacos would’ve been very well priced had they not been such a displeasure to consume. We both ordered 1 al pastor taco. It’s supposed to be pork and pineapple. These tacos only had little specs of pork with a filler. It didn’t even have any pineapple in it. It tasted and felt like a potato mash with meat. This is a common practice in Mexico to help spread out the meat ingredients of a taco with a potato mash, but they at least have the decency to label it as such and only charge like 15 pesos for it! My husband ordered a chicken taco for huts second taco. I ordered a steak taco. Both were flavorless. The corn tortilla was on point though. I got the crunchy ones. The $13 chicken nachos were a , 6-inch platter that hardly had any chicken. Between the 2 of us, we each got 2 small pieces of chicken, and that was only because I checked before eating the piece I was about to eat to see if he got any. I was about to have 3 pieces of chicken. Also, my order of tacos came out wrong. If the tacos had been good, I would’ve just eaten the second one, but they were both the Al Pastor, and, like I said, those were trash. I can’t say how disappointing this experience was. We spent $55.53 for straight trash. They could at least charge reasonable prices. WHERE DO YOU THINK YOU ARE? I know what it’s becoming, but y’all ain’t there yet, dammit! Not with potato mash filler tacos, you’re not. My husband and I wanted to try something new. We regret taking the chance. Should’ve gone to Xochitl. At least they seem to know the worth of...
Read moreMy wife and I dine out on dates often. We have been to many places in the city, Brooklyn, but mainly Williamsburg. We rate the food, service, and experience of whatever spot. There's been a few bad ones but majority were ok to good... a few great ones. This restaurant is TRASH. And Im not being mean. I never left a restaurant feeling disrespected. My wife and I went there and ordered tacos and drinks. We ordered the drinks 1st and they came but they were weak. I could give this to a baby and it would smile. Smh. Fine the drinks were weak. The interior setting was ok exect for the group we were seated next to which were 6 loud females that kept going in and out the back door bringing in a cold breeze every single time. Not the restaurants fault I know but not to mentio. They were louder than thw loud music being played. 20 minutes no food. 30 minutes, 40 minutes 50 minutes....after an hour still no food. We only waited that long to give this place a chance and we were having a nice conversation. I told the waiter I want the check. He said," what happened? No food?" Wth do you think? He walked pass us like 8 times and looked and saw we never ate now he wants to act like he don't know what's going on. He said sorry and bought us 2 tiny plastic baby shot cups of something with a bill of $30.00 which included a service charge. Its clear they forgot our order which was 6 tacos in a Mexican spot. All the fixings were right there. Shouldve only took 15 minutes and the place wasnt even packed. We shouldnt have been charged period. Steer clear from this place. They have no idea how to run a restauurant. I think this even couldve...
Read moreI’m gonna do the cons first Been here a few times..... my Cornish hen entre came with my appetizer which was too soon, 30 mins later they bought back the same plate completely dried Out from sitting in the warmer for so long. didn’t seem to have a floor manager who could assist the scattered staff, Or take our dreadful complaints. The chef seems bored.....plate presentation seemed just as scattered as the staff. Cinnamon or something in either the rice or refried beans (maybe better meal descriptions) the fish in my taco was slightly dark, soggy & smaller than my middle finger, which wasn’t so bad after you slather some more sauce on it. The free chips were glossy n transparent which means they might be old, not strained properly orrrrr the fryers dirty. I assume all three. No offense. Flan was crusty and dry. tequila custard was nice. yet nothing to get hooked on. One minute it goes from creamy spiked desert, to a flash back of that time in college when you vomited in your mouth at central bookings , wishing you had a blanket to comfort you .... definitely don’t want college flashbacks in my food. Idk why I got arrested 🤦🏽♀️ The guac..... no! the salsa was chunky pico, thought we’d get something special, idk idk.
But the flavors....... except for the cinnamon rice & beans, & the Cornish hen lacking concept, were dope . tortillas are nice the tacos were better than expected. this location is great. decor is amazing. Maybe a good drinks and taco spot. Wish you all...
