I usually don’t like to give businesses bad reviews like this but I’m so fed up with this place. No matter which location I go to, I receive HORRIBLE service. I always approach people with sincere kindness and respect and I walk away from these people feeling like I’m a burden to them. After giving up on the Ave A location for repeated bad service, I decided to give this location a chance and wouldn’t you know it, they let me down. I literally asked for a “build your own breakfast sandwich with turkey bacon and cheddar cheese” and then I said “and of course the egg” which, admittedly, I sort of said under my breath, thinking it was implied since the name of what I ordered was actually “build an egg breakfast bagel sandwich”. When I received my sandwich with no egg, I politely said “I’m sorry, there’s no egg on this” to which the person who took my order replied “you didn’t ask for egg”. Like I said, I admit that I mumbled the part about the egg but nevertheless, I don’t appreciate the way they handled that. Working in a service based industry is not for everyone but so I hope this person can figure out what makes them happy and go be great at that because customer service isn’t the right career path for them. Paying $7 for 3 slices of turkey bacon and 2 slices of cheddar cheese on a dense, dry bagel was a disappointing way to start my weekend but luckily there’s tons of other places in this area whose employees know how to properly treat paying customers. Do yourself a favor and skip this one.

We were looking to a place to grab a quick breakfast and we stumbled upon Davidovich Bakery in Essex Market. They have many baked good options but we went for a Rainbow Bagel with cream cheese toasted. This was our first time trying a rainbow bagel. The bagel itself is made with a variety of different colored doughs, such as pink, purple, blue, and green, which are then swirled together, very aesthetic! It was chewy on the outside and a soft and fluffy in the inside. Thats how you know you got a good bagel. Paired with cream cheese, you get that the creamy and tangy taste of the cheese. Overall, a Rainbow Bagel with cream cheese is a satisfying and tasty breakfast option.

Ordered from Davidovich Bakery through DoorDash. It was a fairly decent sized order, with one breakfast entree.

See below for my order:

1 Cheese Danish If sold out, go with merchant recommendation $3.25

1 French Toast Add Breakfast Meat: No Meat If sold out, go with merchant recommendation $8.95

2 Chocolate Twist If sold out, go with merchant recommendation $6.00

2 Croissants Croissant Flavor: Chocolate Croissant If sold out, go with merchant recommendation $5.50

2 Croissants Croissant Flavor: Almond Croissant If sold out, go with merchant recommendation $5.50

1 Rugelach Rugelach Options: 3 Chocolate Rugelachs If sold out, go with merchant recommendation $2.75

1 Rugelach Rugelach Options: 3 Strawberry Rugelachs If sold out, go with merchant recommendation $2.75

What I received:

2 - Chocolate Rugelach 2 - Chocolate Twist 3 - Plain Croissants 1 - Cinnamon Brioche 1 - Apple Cinnamon Muffin 1 - Cheese Danish

They did not call me to tell me they were out of just about everything I had originally ordered. They subbed the French Toast with the Cinnamon Brioche and Apple Cinnamon Muffin, which didn't equal what I paid for the French Toast. I contacted DoorDash so that I could get a refund, which ended up totaling to almost $30 of the $35 that I paid for the whole order. No one wanted the Cinnamon Brioche, Muffin, or the Plain Croissants, so those ended up being wasted. If they had contacted me, I would've happily asked for substitutions that I knew would be eaten.

While the Chocolate Rugelach and Chocolate Twists I did receive from my order were very moist, soft, and tasty, this experience left me with a sour feeling. It's kind of like that Forrest Gump saying, "You never know what you're gonna get;" since when you order, you won't know what they have in stock at the time, and what they're going to sub out without telling you.

In addition to the non-stock items and unwanted substitutions, it took over an hour for me to get my order. The Dasher had to wait a pretty long time for them to "finish preparing" my order, which I don't understand since everything is already baked and they literally just pick the items and toss them into the paper bag. Also, I'm only on Mulberry & Grand.

I don't think I'll be ordering...

Absolutely horrible experience, incompetent workers and complete lack of customer service. I placed an order on seamless and received a call that they no longer had salad and that I would not be able to be refunded but must exchange for ‘cookies or pastries.’ I was forced to contact seamless customer service for a refund for the salad. In the order I specifically asked for tofu scallion spread, as I am dairy intolerant and also specified what type of bagel and the ingredients. I received a plain bagel with cream cheese when I asked for everything bagel toasted and scooped of the dough.

I contacted the vendor explaining that the order I received was incorrect and that I am dairy intolerant. He took down my original order (everything bagel toasted, scooped of the dough with lox, scallion tofu spread and tomato). I received the second attempted delivery and they sent me yet another bagel with cream cheese, not toasted or scooped up! I mean you must be incompetent to screw this up.

Management, please train your staff or hire new, competent workers as your ingredients are not bad but your workers screw the whole experience up. Now I’m down 30 dollars with no salad and two bagels I cannot eat as I am intolerant to Dairy. Also, the OJ is 100% not fresh squeezed...The whole thing seems like a fraud...I notice you have similar bad reviews regarding your staff and schiesty behavior. Can’t you...
