I came to Seward Park in the heart of Chinatown, as I was struggling to find a place to eat my Metro Acres Market rotisserie chicken. The clock was ticking, but like my dad always used to say: No pressure, no diamond.

I took a lap, scanning the park for potential seats. All the chessboard tables I normally frequent were taken by crackhead-like characters. It made me wary of the places I normally sit to eat my chickens. "So that's who sits at these tables before me..." the hero said to himself.

But there was no time for the mind to wander. No time to allow for the fear to creep in. I locked in and found a bench near the basketball courts that would have to do.

I sat there digging into one of the least inspired birds I've eaten thus far. It ended up coming in at 68th out of 75 grocery store chickens I have currently scored. Truly a sad case, but that's the game. The ups. The downs. I love it all. It makes me feel alive.

As I was packing up, spraying hand sanitizer on my mule skinners to combat the chicken juice, I saw a group of kids with nike slides on their feet and hoop shoes in their hands arriving to play basketball. It brought me back to a simpler time. When my only worry was what time I got to hoop with my homies. Ahhh, to be young. To be free.

Seward Park and Playground provided a positive experience for my family. The park is impeccably maintained, boasting clean walkways and play areas that are a pleasure to explore.

The children's playground offers a variety of age-appropriate equipment, ensuring that kids of all ages can have a fantastic time. Swing sets and climbing structures are just a few of the attractions available.

With numerous benches and picnic tables scattered throughout, finding a comfortable spot to relax while keeping an eye on the kids is easy. Additionally, the unexpected bonus of a free table tennis stand adds a fun touch to the park.

Surrounded by lush greenery, Seward Park's tranquil ambiance offers a peaceful retreat from the city's hustle and bustle. It's the perfect setting for family outings, allowing you to create wonderful memories with loved ones.

In conclusion, I highly recommend Seward Park and Playground as a must-visit destination in our community. Its harmonious blend of nature and recreation makes it a true gem. Make the most of your time at Seward Park and enjoy the serene surroundings with...

A great community park with basketball courts, volleyball courts, multiple playgrounds, a little free library, gardens, plenty of public space for activities, restrooms, copious benches, and plenty of greenery. Seward Park is a wonderful spot to get away from the bustle of Chinatown and take part in a friendly game of basketball/volleyball, bring the whole family to the playground, read a book, or just sit on one of the benches and meditate. As a bonus, it is right by a New York public library branch so you can checkout a book and read it in the park! Seward Park is maintained jointly by the city and the Seward Park Conservancy, a non-profit group dedicated to keeping the park beautiful. I'd highly recommend volunteering with the Conservancy if possible to help keep the park in great shape and a positive asset to the community. The park is currently undergoing some renovations (due to be complete by the end of the year) but is still very much open to be enjoyed. Seward Park is a great community resource, and I'd recommend taking full advantage of it - and helping to make it...

Great playground, with swings and playground equipment options for kids of all ages. Can be hard to keep track of older kids as they wander around, but generally mine love how open the space is for running and tag. There are also basketball and volleyball courts. Have been to many a community event here as well as just weekend, summer, and after school playtime. Right next to F train, Hester Street Fair, Seward Park Library, and Educational Alliance. Kids love sprinklers in open circle in the summer. 4 stars because it's been a while since it was first renovated and could use some minor repairs of flooring and painting. And check, as with any other park, for broken glass on the floor.
