The service at Dejavu last night was a complete train wreck, although it wasn't caused by lack of effort, but very poor management. After having a cocktail in the bar area we were seated in the dining room, where the atmosphere was buzzing. However the first sign something was off was us having to flag a waiter down after 10 to 15 minutes of sitting around. We ordered several appetizers and a main course each for four people. Within a reasonable amount of time three of the five appetizers came. Note that the portions are very small here. We asked about the other two appetizers and they apologized saying they would go get them. After another 10 minutes they somehow ran out of Caesar salad and delivered us burratta with frozen berries (clearly rushed to get items out of freezer). After another 10 minutes two orders of fries came (which we ordered one as a side to the meal). Repeatedly asked for ketchup, which was just a small blip of nothing coming back. Finally for the main courses only one came out! We told our friend to eat while we waited another 10 minutes. We flagged the waiter down and asked where the other dishes were. They had to retake our order and disappeared again. We waited and waited and eventually set a timer telling ourselves if it's more than another 15 we pull the ripcord. It went over the 15 and it took another 10 to try and get the bill. So we booked a table at Justine's down the street and had a normal service dinner later. I also feel bad for the birthday table next to us as they had worse issues and it was a birthday! Dejavu likely needs to reduce the tables until they can manage the room and service. It's...
