The slices are pretty decent but the woman behind the counter, although kind, welcomed a hyper, non-service dog into the restaurant and exclaimed the dog could come back anytime while she was petting it. I love dogs as much as the next person but this new restaurant is still a food establishment in the state of New York and the restaurant and its staff MUST still adhere to New York State Law. It’s unsanitary to allow personal and untrained pets in any indoor public place where food is prepared and served. and it’s completely unfair and disrespectful to the other customers to have to eat in a restaurant next to a hyper dog jumping on everyone and everything. It was very clear and obvious that the dog was an untrained non-service animal. The staff did not even ask if it was a service animal nor did they request that all pets remain outside unless they are a certified service animal. I understand that some privileged and entitled pet owners lie in order to bring in their pets into food establishments, but it’s the law to make it clear to customers that pets are not allowed 🚫 unless they are certified service dogs. The woman behind the counter encouraged flouting the law, put in place for sanitation and safety purposes. Pretty shocking for a brand new spot. Heads up to the owners that the health department makes frequent surprise visits around...
Read moreI visited Diamond Slice for the first time to try their Caesar slice. I love a good Caesar salad and pizza, and the combo sounded fun.
The slice is served cold (makes sense so the lettuce doesn’t wilt), but some of the lettuce was still a bit soggy, which threw off the texture a little.
Flavor-wise, the slice was underwhelming. Either the salad could have used more seasoning before being placed on the pizza, or the cheese/base layer needed more flavor. The combination just didn’t come together the way I’d hoped.
At $5.44 for a single slice, it’s also pricier than a typical slice. I probably wouldn’t get the Caesar slice again, but I’d give some of their other slices a...
