Large playground area for parents to bring their kids at. This part of the playground is fenced off from the main park ground. It's has rules and one of those rules is, no dogs allowed. That's a good thing because there are some people who are not in favor of that anyway. I have my English Bulldog and I'm ok with that because there's a doggie park just for them, right across the street in McCarron park. This is a very good and safe park for parents with very young children. It has rest rooms, water fountains with a few kid friendly imaginary building with slides and monkey bars. My advice is to parents always be mindful of your surroundings and never take your eyes off the kids. Don't let a book or conversation take your attention away from the little ones. It can only take a few seconds for tragedy to come.

Large playground with unimaginative design. Blacktop covering everything, no natural surfaces or sandboxes. Mostly identical neutral metal structures, some swings, very short slides for small kids. Benches in the shade under large trees. Sloped basketball court. Public restrooms in red brick building. What a wasted opportunity! Williamsburg would have deserved an imaginative adventure playground. New York City is neglecting middle class kids:(

This is a big playground, appropriate for a wide range of ages, starting from toddlers up to 10. Because it's within McCarren Park, there are lots of other activities nearby, including eateries, picnic areas, spots for bike or scooter riding, soccer or baseball. There is a fountain for the wee ones on the turtle in the back, which children like to simply climb on when there's no water. There are baby swings as well as regular swings. A downside to this playground is the bathroom is around...
