They serve more of a street food and simple teppanyaki-style food. It is actually a Japanese chain restaurant, and they have more than 90 locations throughout Japan. This is their first location outside of Japan.

The inside is small but cozy, people kept coming in and out with the delicious aroma of food seeping out into the street.

They have three large grills side by side, each specializing in different item: Takoyaki, Okonomiyaki, and Yakisoba. They also have some side dishes like matcha potato chips and Japanese cucumber salad. Each station is maned by one staff, and they cook everything to order. So, it might not be a fast-food place, but you get a piping hot food, straight off the grill.

In order to get the best experience out of this visit, we ordered one of each main dish with different toppings. The portion of each are not huge, and with this fact, some might say the price is a bit high. And I do agree with that, but then again, the quality was really good too. So, the value worth would be up to the customer; do you focus more on the quantity, or more on the quality of the food.

For us, it was a fun visit to DokoDemo. We enjoyed all the food here, much better quality than expected. The staffs were really nice, and they were all Japanese, which is excellent! They welcomed us with a big smile and enthusiasm. Again, the price point is high, but the quality of the food both in ingredients and flavor are high. Came to DokoDemo because I was working near by and it was listed as a ramen joint. Well, it is...kinda. They don't make ramen in the traditional soup way. Rather, they make it in plates of yakisoba.

The small menu was pleasant and reassuring: I was certain the food would be fresh and well made. I'll be honest, I was a bit bummed they didn't have the soup I was looking for, but i was willing to try the noodle dishes.

I ordered hot tonkatsu yakisoba with pork. The ramen was well cooked and tasty and the broth and pork good, if a bit bland. I had to punch it up with some shichimi togarashi powder. To be fair, again, I asked for not spicy.

After my yakisoba, I saw the takoyaki and had to try it. It was fragrant and flavorful. My only complaint with it would be that the octopus was a bit rubbery. That aside, it was the highlight of my visit.

The food here is reasonably priced, and your definitely get your money's worth. Watch out for the beer prices though - is almost as much as the food! I definitely will...

My husband and I have been hunting down the best takoyaki all around NY hoping to find a place that delivers on authentic deliciously satisfying taste and street food vibe. One day we weren`t even on this hunt, in fact we were actually on a spur of the moment search for a good stack.of flapjacks forgetting that a search like that would be met with ridiculous wait times. We just about calles it quita when we came across dokodemo by fate and had found out it just opened up recently. The staff were very welcoming, the smells and sounds of the kitchen had us drool in anticipation. The okonomiyaki with tako and the takoyaki were exactly what we have been hunting for. All we needed was to pair it with a good Sapporo Black and this would be absolutely over the top perfect. Easily the best in NY. Look forward to many trips here and exploring the rest of the menu. The chefs put a lot of care and attention and completely deliver. Well...

【New York Eats】Don’t Miss These 6 Spots in Manhattan Top 1: Wu Chow Taiwanese Delights 🥟 This authentic Taiwanese eatery is a favorite of director Ang Lee. Their signature Wuchang Pork Chop Rice is a must-try—crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, paired with pickled vegetables. The portion is generous and delicious. Besides the pork chop rice, the chicken leg rice is also worth trying. My personal favorite is the Taiwanese grass jelly shaved ice with chewy taro balls. 📍Address: 3 Doyers Street (between Bowery & Chatham Sq), New York, NY 10013 Top 2: Shake Shack 🍔 Known as the best burger in New York, it’s always packed with long lines. Must-tries include the cheese fries and the classic cheeseburger. The bun is soft, the cheese is generous, and the beef patty is juicy and thick—it’s so good it’ll make you scream. 📍Address: Madison Ave & E. 23rd St, New York, NY 10010 Top 3: Chikalicious 🍮 A Michelin-level French dessert spot in New York. Ms. Chika crafts creative desserts that blend Japanese precision with French elegance. Each dessert is a work of art. They also have a branch in Shanghai. 📍Address: 203 E 10th St, New York, NY 10012 Top 4: Sprinkles Cupcake 🥧 Sprinkles is a shop selling cupcakes and ice cream. The ATM-style ordering is simple, with 12 flavors to choose from. Each cupcake is $4.50. After selecting, a box pops out with your cupcake inside—total girl vibes. 📍Address: 780 Lexington Ave, New York, NY 10065 Top 5: BCD Tofu House 🍲 Located in Korea Town, their classic tofu soup is the star of the menu—definitely order it! The soup is thick, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. The bibimbap is average, but the sizzling beef short ribs are a must-try. Around $40 per person. 📍Address: 5 W 32nd St, New York, NY 10001 Top 6: Dokodemo 🍢 The East Village is a hub for Japanese cuisine, and this spot is famous in Japan. They recently opened a new branch downtown. The takoyaki and okonomiyaki are delicious, and the UCC green tea helps cut through the richness. Take the F train to 2 Av St. 📍Address: 89 E 4th St, New York City, NY 10003 Top 7: Jacques Torres Chocolate 🍫 This is the richest hot chocolate I’ve ever had—a must-visit chocolate shop in the U.S. Highly recommend the hot chocolate; it’s not overly sweet but rich and aromatic. They also have a variety of chocolates perfect for gifts. 📍Address: 6 Av St, New York, NY 10001 #NewYork #Foodie #ManhattanEats #TravelGram #FoodLovers #InstaFood #NYCFoodScene

We ordered the Hiroshima-yaki and beef yaki udon, both were absolutely delicious! The outer crepe-like layer of Hiroshima-yaki was really good, thin and slightly crispy, almost mochi-like, not too thick or doughy like other okonomiyaki I’ve tried! It fully covered the ingredients inside without being too thick or filling, just really well balanced and flavourful! The yaki udon was also amazing! The udon was perfectly stir-fried, full of flavour, and the beef was tender and tasty. You can tell everything is made with care. Their homemade yuzu drink is fabulous too! And best of all, the owner/staffs are super friendly, chatty, and genuinely passionate about the restaurant. You can really feel their heart in the food and service. Definitely a spot I’d love to come back to and recommend to friends!
