Enzo's was highly recommended by our friends. We came here after a Yankee baseball game on our bus trip from the Italian American Community Center of Albany, NY- May 23/2024. Everyone was free to choose their own shopping & dining options during this 2-1/2 hour stop. Having passed on the $14 beers & $10 hotdogs at the stadium, we were really ready for some refreshing adult beverages & a great dining experience. We sat at the bar at 4:40pm. We were greeted by the busy bartender Melady P. She brought us waters, a glass of Italian Pinot Grigio ($12) & a tall tequila, club, & lime ($14). We asked if they served dinner at the bar, she replied "Yes we do." & brought us menus. So many choices: 10 antipastos, 6 insalates, 10 pizzas, 13 pastas, 9 carne, 6 pollo, 6 pesce, & 4 contorni. note: lunch offers paninis & *12 lunch choices but only M-F 11:30am- 3pm. We started with another drink and the mozzarella caprese w/ tomato slices, roasted red peppers, & spicy Calabrese olives ($19 enough for 2-4 people). My bride's dinner was the focaccia special - perfect chewy bread w/ arugula, speck, creamy goat cheese, w/ balsamic glaze drizzle ($23 - shareable, she took home half). At the bar you can watch them make the focaccias & pizzas. My dinner was chicken rustico-sauteed boneless chicken, sausage, hot cherry peppers, artichoke hearts, & a 1/2 order of orecchiette pasta in a balsamic vinegar sauce ($26 & $5) - Wow! A spicy home run. A very generous portion but took half home because I mopped up the sauce with some great Italian bread. They also offer an extensive dessert, cordial, & coffee menu. So two more drinks & we split a cannoli ($7). Perfecto! We go out like this only on a few special occasions per year. But Enzo's is a high value restaurant, well worth the price for quality of the food, service, & atmosphere. Again thank you to Melady P, the focaccia maker, & the rest of the staff at Enzo's. A few other observations: plenty of attentive staff, plenty of seating, & plenty of food choices. Reminder: Enzo's is large but gets busy, so reservations are required. Hours: *Lunch M-F 11:30am-3pm ONLY. Dinner M-Sat 11:30am-10pm, Sun 12-9pm. A great first time dining experience at Enzo's. Ciao & Grazis. Nicola & Liz,...
Read morehonestly the food was really good. it’s not cheap. but it’s worth it. the star off was for the service. The menus don’t have the drinks listed. We asked for a drinks menu and the guy brings us a cocktail list from the bar and walks away. We just wanted a beer or wine, nothing too fancy. So I flag him down again and he tells me “yeah we have wine” and stares at me blankly. So I look back and him and say “ok…?” so he then starts listing a bunch of wines off the top of his head.. there are a lot, it’s not easy to make a choice if someone starts throwing a bunch of words at you. I ask, do you have beer? He lists the beer - we got beer. Fine. The food comes, it’s great, I highly recommend the pizza, the dough was chewy and warm and ingredients were fresh and delicious. Then it’s time for the check. Waiter is talking to a table on the other side of the room. We wait maybe 15 minutes. He’s still chatting with them. There’s a million bus boys but only one server. We finally get the attention of the matre d’ and ask for the check, and he goes and grabs the server. When I ask for the bill I also asked for a box for the leftover food. ‘sure no problem.’ brings over the bill, I pay and then we wait. my friend goes to the bathroom and comes back. the box hasn’t come. then I hear the waiter pass by me again and I look at him and he goes “yes and you need a box…” calls a busboy to grab him a box. meanwhile we’ve paid already. we’re just sitting there waiting. All in all it took just as much time to leave as it did to sit order and eat. It was kind of unfortunate because it was all avoidable and like I said the...
Read moreAbsolutely incredible. My wife and I went to Italy a year ago and i have to say, the food here is on par, and in many cases BETTER than what we had in Italy.
Our server was Michele and he was absolutely wonderful.
We had:
♦️CAPPUCCINO: 8.7 / 10 - very good
♦️BOLOGNESE: 9.3 / 10 - superb!
♦️EGGPLANT TOWER SPECIAL: 10 /10 🎉. Absolutely incredible. It's a special, so if they offer it, seriously, you gotta get it. It was so delicious, I suggested they make it a regular item on the menu because it was way too good to be only a occasional special.
♦️MEATBALLS: 4.3 / 10 👎 - I'm so so sorry to do this but I gotta be honest, the meatballs weren't for me (or anyone at the table). We all agreed that they were way too spicy (and when I say spicy I mean it tasted like someone accidentally knocked over an entire bag of pepper into the mix when they were making it. Waaaaaaay Waay way too spicy. Also, they serve jt with no tomato sauce (it was topped with friend onions). If you like extra spicy meatballs, then this is 100% for you. But for me, and everyone at the table, we were looking for traditional fried meatballs with tomato sauce and cheese. So unfortunately these were a no go from our party. But like I said, if you like spicy give 'em a shot.
♦️CHICKEN FRANCHISEE: solid 8.5.
♦️TARTUFO: 9.4 - delicious
♦️VANILLA ICE CREAM INFUSED WITH OLIVE OIL: 10/10🎉 - this was so special and unique. The sweetness of the vanilla along with the savoy of the olive oil works beautifully. Absolutely perfect. I wish I had better words to describe it. An...
