From the time I walked in, I should have known it was going to be a problem. I arrived at 6 pm to celebrate my sista-girl's birthday. The host, MIA. When someone finally appeared, I was told our table was ready. I stepped outside to greet my party. Once we were all inside, we were seated. Once we were seated, we placed our orders: drinks, appetizers, and entrees for us all. The music was so loud the waitress could barely hear us, but we finally get through the order. One of my sista-girls went over her order with the waitress three times before she finally got it straight, oxtails AND mac and cheese. Nope. The order was WRONG. The waitress brought out the oxtail Mac and cheese. I digress. Finally, Our appetizers came out. We ordered the wing platter and tacos. The wings were cold. I didn't have the tacos because I was saving room for my entree, so I couldn't tell you if they were delish or not. My other sista-girl ordered the whiting with rice and peas. Nothing to write home about. She picked over it. As for myself, I ordered the rosemary lamb chops with mashed potatoes and veggies. The birthday girl, she ordered the Jamaican fest. I wish I could tell you how good or bad the food was,but I can't because me and the birthday girl never got our food. An hour and a half in this restaurant, I finally ask the waitress what happened to our entrees? She said we didn't order entrees, but we can order now. No, thank you. She was apologetic, and said maybe because of how loud the music was, that perhaps she didn't hear us. I said, but you repeated it back to us. At this point, I just wanted to go, but before we left, we spoke to the manager. I simply stated, you have the music so loud your staff can't even hear. We have to shout to give our orders, we have to shout to have a conversation amongst our party, why have it that loud? I understand after 9 pm, but it's 6 o'clock, dinner time. The manager said the waitress should have told the DJ to turn the music down. I, in turn, replied, I just brought it to her attention when she said the music was too loud, and she didn't get our order. We have 4 people at a table and only 2 people are eating? Get a clue. This was a terrible experience. I'm home now at 10 pm eating baked ziti my momma made. We paid 185.00 for drinks, appetizers, and 2 entrees. I wish this establishment the best of luck. They're going to need it if they expect to have longevity in...
Read moreUpon entry, I was greeted and was seated. Service was 0/10 after that. I arrived around 6 PM and did not eat until after 8 PM. I really wish I had a better experience when it came to this restaurant. This place was definitely over-hyped. As a fellow Caribbean, the food was an insult. The food was not really that great. I was starving as to why I ate my chicken, but that was because we waited over an hour and a half to be asked what we wanted to eat. The cabbage lacked seasoning, and it still tasted raw and as if there was still dirt on the cabbage. The rice was cold and was just not pleasant. The chicken was consumable, but I barely ate my food. I believe it was a waste. The jerk chicken was pretty good. The empandas were not a hit. The crust was fantastic, but the filling was not the best. We waited 15 minutes for hookah. By the time I received my drink, there was no ice in my drink at all. I couldn't ask for my drink to be fixed because there was only one server serving all the tables at this establishment, which was unprofessional and unethical. I actually felt bad for her because she was running around, and the place was pretty packed for Cinco de Mayo. There were parties of people that came after us and were being served and fed before us. When we asked if anyone else could help us, for the sake of helping the one server, they were not very accommodating. I asked them to change the hose from the original hookah because you can taste the debris in it, and they still gave me the same hose as the first one when I asked to change it to a plastic one. The music and the vibe are what made up for this experience. That was my first time and will be my last. I would have loved to give a tip, but for the services that I received, it was not something I would want to...
Read moreFlava restaurant is the most unorganized and unprofessional establishment!! Me and my friends traveled from CT for the first time to Flava restaurant for a birthday celebration.First off, the host seating us was rude because we asked to sit in a specific area. When ordering our meals and appetizers we were told that a few dishes on the menu where not available after being told, “Let me check if we have the items”. We waited 1 hr for our appetizers🥵Then we all ordered are 3 meals. Finally after an 1hr only one of us received our dinner. 15 minutes later another friend received her food. The waitress then informed the birthday girl that staff gave my friend who ordered oxtails to an outside patron. However, she never informed my friend who ordered the oxtails.WHAT TYPE OF ESTABLISHMENT DOES THIS TO A CUSTOMER!!We all wanted to celebrate and all eat together. My friend then was told my the manager that her food would be ready in 15 minutes. After waiting 1hr her meal finally arrived. The manager did apologize and offered us free shots and my friend did not have to pay for her meal. We have NEVER been treated this way from a black business that we love to support, especially coming for the first time. This was the first and last time we will ever go to this unorganized, rude, and unprofessional establishment.. WORST...
