I am not writing this negative review because of their quality: having ordered from there many times, it is clearly top notch. I am also not writing this review because they were slammed on a particular night—though they certainly need a better system for how they manage Uber eats, online, and in person orders when they get slammed. What I am writing about is the “bro vibe” that, when they were slammed, clearly led to women and children being treated differently than adult men. I say this having stood in the store for 20 minutes (waiting 40 minutes to come in after my order): I saw that men came from behind women and children who were standing upfront waiting to get our questions heard. The staff could have gone in the order of the line. But, men got their voice heard, got clear answers about when their order would be ready—often 20 or 30 minute promises—and got to put in new orders with the same timeline. Several women and (male) children did not get the same voice despite the fact that we all had timelines from online orders that suggested our order should be ready (and being upfront). After hitting the one hour mark and getting a message from Uber eats that my order is ready, I finally pushed for a timeline on when it will be ready and I got a “maybe 20 minutes.” I pushed for a commitment—just as I had observed many men get—and I was told off that they were busy. (I got some nice mansplaning too—but we won’t go into it!) let me say that the other woman waiting completely agreed with me about the unequal treatment. And I felt really bad for not standing up for the poor kid in the sea of bros! (To the kid---in case you are reading---I'm sorry!) FWIW, I went down the block to another pizza shop and they treated all their customers...
Read moreBeen going here pretty much every motsai shabbos and felt like it was about time we review this pizza joint.
For starters don’t buy anything but the pizza, I have had there other stuff like cheese pretzels and it’s ok and everything but at the end of the day you come here for the pizza.
My personal favorite is the classic margarita pie. Starting with the dough as that’s arguably the most important part of a slice you get a thin deliciously browned crust that tastes like it just came straight out of the fire (courtesy of the wood fired oven), it’s cooked evenly and I couldn’t detect any raw mushy spots as I was eating. From there we go onto the toppings and to start you have a beautiful tomato sauce clearly made out of San Marzano tomatoes that is splotched on evenly throughout the pie and delivers a delicious acidity and tanginess. From there you have the fresh mozzarella that is cooked until it’s bubbly brown and melts into the tomato sauce delivering that cheesy goodness. Overall this pie was a 10/10.
In summary I highly recommend focaccia if you are going there to get pizza and strongly recommend making sure they are open before you go as they are only open a few...
Read moreI am absolutely appalled by the way I was treated!! I went with a friend and we got our pizza sat down to eat since it was taking a while to get rung up, and said we would pay after. We go up to pay, and was cut off by a girl with a group splitting the check 6 ways. I told the man at the register I was cut off he didn't care since he already rung them up at the register. We said we would leave and come back because the waiting was ridiculous. We got back, and waited another 10 minutes and the man thought we didn't even eat yet. I then said you guys need to get your stuff together here and was yelled at by the young man at the register. Your customers come first! I was told I am just a person and he doesn't care that I am a customer! If focaccia pizza doesn't care about their customers do them a favor and do not go back!! I know I never will!!! Horrible service and...
