On February 1 2023 at approximately 6pm I personally was subjected to a very unprofessional experience with a particular Jamaican women who was a server at

Golden Krust located at 2718 White Plains Rd Bronx NY 10467

The horrendous customer service commenced at the point when I requested a medium meal consisting of rice and peas, sweet plantains, and cabbage. I requested the order and requested for it to be placed in a white sectional container instead of the non sectional black bowl.

To my surprise, the server, a Jamaican woman who stood about 5'3", slender build, attractive face, refused to place my order in the medium white container and informed me that the rule states if you are not getting any meat, she will only be able to place the order in the non sectional black container bowl.

I told her I did not want it in that bowl and I want it in the sectional white container. She was not aggressive but she sure gave a lot of attitude. I proceeded to give the consolation that I'm willing to pay extra for the white container with the sections and that solution was to no avail🤷🏾‍♂️🤦🏾‍♂️

I was incredulous. It is very unfortunate that a place that does have a great chef, aesthetically designed and attractive has some of the most unprofessional, uncompromising, unpleasant, unfriendly and low key rude Jamaican women working there.

I was refused time and again despite my offer to pay extra for the container...smh. I was literally hungry but I was so dissatisfied with the lack of business aclcumen, savvy, common sense, and need I say it...yes...total lack of customer service👎🏽that I forwent the purchase and quietly exited the unpleasant environment.

Fast forward to Wednesday February 8 2023 at approximately 7:15am I requested an order of Ackee, callalo, with banana, and yam to be placed in the same white sectional container instead of the black bowl.

This particular time it was a different Jamaican woman there but almost identical replay of unprofessionalism, fake sweetness, and lack of attention and attentiveness. She got my order 95% correct(forgot the callalo🤷🏾‍♂️🤦🏾‍♂️). I was so disappointed I didn't bother going back to correct her mistake. I didn't want to subject myself to a unfriendly unprofessional attitude.

Unlike the first Jamaican lady I experienced she was compliantly willing to satisfy my order by placing it in the white container.

However Initially she also refused to utilize the white container but at least this woman demonstrated she had some understanding and level of customer service by accepting my willingness to pay for the container and she allowed me to pay an extra dollar for it.smh

This Jamaican lady was a bit portly and stood approximately 5'3" she wasn't a mean person but she was definitely passive-aggressive and appeared evasive

Due to my great displeasure with the service. I requested information as to how to escalate a complaint. She indicated the only way to submit a complaint is to either write it and leave it with her (which I did not do... I'm sure the paper would end up in garbage🤦🏾‍♂️)

Her second option was to leave my name and cell number and that's not happening either. Anyone can call and say they're the manager and circumvent the receipt of proper intervention.

The Golden Krust at 2718 White Plains Road Bronx New York 10467 is an aesthetically appealing establishment that provides good food but unsuspecting customers may not be able to indulge their appetite due to the disgruntled, unprofessional, negative attitude and unhelpfull nature of the employees.

I recommend retraining for these Jamaican women in intercustomer accomodations and renewed teachings on what it means to provide excellence in customer service.

I visit many Golden Krust from time to time mainly for the patties but would also get dinner on occasions. This past Friday myself and husband got dinner (stew pork and rasta pasta) which were quite tasty and the service was great. Today however was a totally different experience in terms of the service which was due to the only female I saw behind the counter. I was served by the same young man from last week but when she was taking the payment apparently I was being a bother because she said make your selection (tips or skip) then tap my card. I initially selected the 1st option for the tip and tried tapping but I didn't realize that my selection didn't go through. The woman stretched over and hit skipped and said tap your card which I did but it was her disrespectful comment that she made at the same time which prompted this review. Very loudly she said 'me nah kno if wen mi talk mi does talk Spanish becaus like some people nah understan wah mi ah seh' and shrugged her shoulders in my direction when the young asked her what she was talking about because there was another customer in the restaurant who was just placing her order with him. I felt disappointed as I left more so than anything else and even considered turning back and giving the young man the $10 change I had just gotten from another business I had just patronized just to prove to her that courtesy and respect are still important especially when dealing with customers as a frontline person. I also noticed that this particular Golden Krust had a grade pending status. I hope that this type of poor representation of the company by one frontline salesperson doesn't cause management to lose more than my $15 purchase. I have found that a lot of Caribbean restaurants don't have a clue what Caribbean flavor is anymore. We sometimes patronize them due to constraints on our time. Salt, sugar, and pepper are the predominant tastes that hit your tastebuds upon first bite. Not this establishment! I stopped by yesterday morning after work. The rain was coming down in buckets, and so cold. I just needed some porridge to warm my bones. I bought one cornmeal, and a tapioca pearls with peanuts. OMG...so freakin good. I threw out a large cornmeal porridge from another franchise because all I tasted was cornmeal, salt and sugar. The chef totally omitted the spices. This wasn't my first time at this franchise. It's not even close to my home, but I go there because I rarely ever get disappointed with their food. I said rarely because no restaurant (in my opinion) gets it right 100% of the time. When I cook at home, I don't get it right 100% of the time. Their food is delicious, and worth my trip! I find the staff to be courteous most of the time.The store is smaller than the others I've visited, so it's a "get your food and go" type of thing, save for a couple stools at the counter. It's clean, and I don't feel as if I'll end up in the ED after eating their food. I'd much prefer to cook at home, but I work long shifts. When I have to eat out I want my food to taste like I make it at home. That's why this is one of my go to...
