This restaurant is definitely a visit! Amazing atmosphere, wonderful and absolutely delicious food, and our server, Cassidy, was so sweet and genuinely helpful. If your black, this restaurant reminds me of family reunions vibe. From the music, to the molasses for the waffles, to the records on the wall. I’m often skeptical of some restaurants when they look good but this one also taste good. Definitely recommend.!!! UPDATE: we visited this restaurant again recently with a friend in town. During the weekday. I am not sure if there is a different Chef during the week, but I must admit we were not as satisfied with this visit. There was a different taste about the food as well as the fries were cold, and some items were overcooked. My chicken sandwich was moderate, though my sister and friends food had been overcooked giving impression that they threw it back in the grease to possibly reheat it multiple times. This is upsetting considering we were really looking for a routine restaurant to visit too often. We were excited to share a local favorite to a guest. Willing to visit one more time to see if it can be redeemed. ON A WEEKEND.

Good ‘Ol Days Diner Est. 2023 Layout/atmosphere *Black-owned, 70s inspired diner/cafe; 11 tables; old personal photos, posters & tchotchkes on the walls; backyard area with tables Service *Friendly; takes a little time for the food but not dramatically Food/drink *The Bacon, Bacon, Egg & Cheese (Two fried eggs, Applewood bacon, Bacon jam, American cheese, arugula and house made sauce on brioche bun with side of smashed hash browns) - solid; bread held up with all the ingredients; potatoes included tomatoes & scallions (weren’t seasoned so I requested hot sauce on the side) *Brownstone French Toast (house made ginger cookie praline, maple syrup/weekends only) - Good; sweet, buttery; the syrup actually cuts the sweetness if you find that to be too much on its own

Good Vibes at Good ol Days! I had the pleasure of checking out Good Ol Days diner during my last visit to Brooklyn. Its a cozy diner with a solid and creative menu. I had the breakfast plate which was scrambled eggs, hash browns, toast and your choice of protein(I had turkey bacon) Our server Dante was super chill and friendly and the food came out super fast and was so good and filling. Their hash browns are smashed tater tots which were so yummy. My aunt had the bestchickensandwich which she inhaled lol and said was delicious. There is also a super cute patio in back. I even met paul the local business owner “Peppa Paul” who supplies the restaurant with his own brand of hot sauce. I went on a Tuesday but I gotta come back to try the Brunch!

What a delightful find... I almost don't want to share it because I want to be able to always have a seat without a wait, but these folks deserve the love, respect, AND your weekly visit for a meal. The spot is CUTE! Nostalgic and artistic with a great vibe. The owner and staff are so accommodating and sweet, made sure I had the attention I needed but plenty of space.

I have been looking for a spot in the neighborhood that has a proper full all day breakfast without being ... IHOP. And boy have I found it! I had the breakfast platter with bacon, eggs, hash and toast...along with a flight of hot sauces. You can tell they put a lot of love into this meal. Everything was cooked to delightful perfection, and each sauce was a delightful experience - I really can't pick a favorite ... you'll just have to try them all yourself. The texture of the hash was balanced, just crisp enough and not at all greasy or oily. The fried eggs were also nicely done, with the yolk juuuuuust right - not overly runny and once again not greasy or oily. The coffee had a delightful dash of cinnamon in it that gave it ... you know what just go and enjoy a meal. The food does what it needs to do and you'll leave happy and full and maybe thinking about it for the rest of the day. I can't wait to try the brunch...

Food is solid. Atmosphere is even better. Price point is reflective of current average prices in the neighborhood. If you get here early enough there is no wait but once everyone wakes up the line stretches pretty long. The service was very polite and quick with the staff having exceptional customer service skills. The fish and grits was good but I wish there was more fish and a little less grits. It was the largest portion of grits I have ever seen (I love grits) and definitely not the biggest portion of fish. The grits were well seasoned and the pepper sauce was well spiced. The sauce did almost taste like marinara but it wasn’t off putting. The pancake was also good but could use a special topping or addition to make it stand out. It’s a great base pancake that felt like it was waiting for berries or a compote topping. It’s definitely better than any diner food and appreciated option in the...
