This review is long overdue. This is the best bagel shop in all of Bay Ridge and you could take that to the bank. If Bay Ridge has one thing, it’s great bagel shops and this one is King. Crispy on the outside soft on the inside. I love how the guy who owns the place is the one who’s making the bagels and he makes a great one at that, the staff is super friendly and accommodating and respectful and you feel appreciated. I pass by at least five or six bagel stores just to go to this one and it never fails.

Great quick breakfast on the go for a great price. Line moved quick, the staff took my order promptly, and the food was perfect. I got an egg everything bagel with cream cheese. Super fresh and flavorful bagel with the right amount of cream cheese. I hate when places put too much cream cheese, but they got it just right. None fell out when I was eating or got all over my beard. 🤣

The store is located in the Bay Ridge section of Brooklyn. They serve a variety of very good bagels. The tuna salad was excellent. They also prepare other salads and sandwiches. Many drinks and snacks are also available. They are currently a cash-only business. The store opens early but closes by 3:45 PM. Great staff who are very nice and helpful to the customers

I had an unfornate experience just now at H&L bagels. I come here almost every day for an everything mini bagel toasted with butter. The tall gentleman with white hair took my order. I wasn't expecting smiles and chit chat. He asked what I wanted, and I answered just as quickly as he asked. He burnt the mini bagel pretty bad and tossed it in the bag. I opened ig back up in front of him and politely asked if he could make another one since this bagel was badly burnt. He snatched the bagel and looked at it before sucking his teeth and throwing it away (no apology of course) He then started on another bagel and tossed the bagel on the table with a nasty attitude. Its a shame because I was a regular costumer. I won't be returning and will be letting my neighbors know to take their business elsewhere like I will...

It's a shame that a place with such good bagels can't make people wear two gloves on both hands. It's simple. Instead they wear one glove and use the other hand to deal with cash (It's cash only, which is fine, but they should have a separate person handling the cash than handling the food). I went here for years but got sick recently and just can't do it anymore. The hand without the gloves touches the cash, the register, the coffee lids, basically everything you need a second hand for other than touching the food. Simple fix - wash the place down, wear two gloves, have a dedicated cashier during busy times, and...

Owners Pay Attention!! Today was my first time in your place. I order 2 turkey sandwiches one on a hero and one on a roll with lettuce, tomato, and mustard. I got it everything except instead of mustard I got mayo. I don’t hate mayo but I wanted mustard. I think the boys behind the counter need to pay attention to their orders more and stop talking so much by the slicer. This place should hire a bunch of girls in the front and keep the boys in the back ( IMHO). This place has a lot more potential. Let me conclude with the sandwiches were good...
