Been going here for years and was disappointed today. I sat at a table for two and decided to move my chair because it was placed on an incline on the sidewalk causing the seating to be uneven. Not too long after that the manager approached me and asked me to move my seat back to where it originally was due to distance requirements from Coronavirus. I have no issue with this but the table directly behind me was not occupied and I mentioned this and was still told I needed to move the seat back to where it was. Mind you the tables were not even six feet apart so my seating either way was not technically in accordance with regulations. I moved it back with no fuss because I was trying to enjoy a Saturday afternoon with my daughter. Eventually a couple did come and sit at that table and moved their seat in such a way that I was told I couldn't. Then the table behind where my daughter was sitting became fully occupied with five people and they moved their seat in such a way that I was told was not allowed. I said nothing and ate my food which mind you was not good. My daughter ordered a linguine with garlic and oil sauce that had no garlic in it and the rapini was soggy mush. My salad was okay however it had a little bit too much dressing but that really wasn't the issue. The food was definitely overrated and not up to par. The manager walked by the seating area twice while I was eating and didn't bother to say anything to the other people so it annoyed me that I was targeted when those tables were empty. The reason for this negative review is because this manager had the audacity to say something to me in a very sarcastic tone apologizing for asking me to move my seat. I wish he didn't say anything because I felt the need to let him know other people were doing what they wanted with this seating and he said nothing to them and this resulted in an unpleasant exchange on my Saturday afternoon for a salad and a bowl of pasta that ended up costing me $75. I will not be going back here and I've been going here for years and years...
Read moreBeen here a few times since moving to the neighborhood 11 years ago. My last two times have not been impressive. Both times were on a Sunday for brunch. 1st time we sat outside, not too crowded or busy. Food was good. However my gf's dish was taken without being asked and she wasn't done. Plus she wasn't crazy about her eggs as they were undercooked and she gets over medium.
Today we went and it was a nightmare. We got a table inside right away and it by no means had a hectic or busy feel for a Sunday. Although there was a nice crowd seated outside. We ordered two drinks. They got to the table quickly. However our food took over an hour to arrive. I will say, Doug our server, was very quick with service recovery and also very apologetic. He made the wait justifiable. They brought over some risotto balls free of charge and he even bought us a round of drinks. The food finally came and, well, not too good. I got the steak and eggs medium rare with my eggs over easy. My steak was very tough, not hot, and my eggs were overcooked and also looked like they were sitting around for awhile. My gf's "broken eggs" came out over 5 mins after mine and hers were undercooked. Plus, on the menu it's advertised as eggs over with chicken sausage and potatoes. It doesn't state that it's also like a whole onion which totally overwhelms the dish. It should be called "sliced onion" with some eggs...
Although Doug was very inviting and Professional and Liz made excellent Margagritas at the bar, the time it took to get our food and the quality of the meal was just unsatisfactory and we actually left hungry.
With places all over 3rd ave especially, and in the vicinity as well, I think this might've been our last visit to Cebu. Not worth...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I came in today after walking down to the bridge. We were met by two smiling faces at the door and guided to our seats- the place is super roomy and while there was a large party next to our table, it didn’t feel like we were on top of eachother. Let’s start with the bread they bring to the table- the red pepper dipping sauce was outstanding. The sweetness of the red pepper mixed with the punch of basil was spot on. Next came my Caesar salad with grilled chicken and Trav’s fried chicken sandwich. The salad dressing was made from scratch and a huge thank you to the chef for cutting my romaine into bite sized pieces so i didn’t have to do extra cutting at the table. The dressing is made in house- YUM! And the chicken was marinated and then grilled- nothing boring about it. Fried chicken sandwich with as really good- his favorite part was the pickles lol. He said the chicken was really good and not too much breading, well seasoned and he finished every bite! Tommy was our server- what a GREAT YOUNG MAN!!!! With high dreams and aspirations he shared that he is a college student and we chatted about that for a while as my boyfriend and I are both students in our 30s. Tommy maintained professionalism with great personality and food suggestions. He was patient and vibrant- i am a huge believer that a server can truly create an experience and he did JUST that- and earned a hefty tip to show our gratitude and support for a truly upstanding young man. Please ask for him and tell him Marcela and Travis sent you!! 10/10 recommend this place and we will surely be back when we return to Bay Ridge. Thank you...
