Thankfully they are able to tone down the spiciness to the right amount when requested. We have many favorite dishes such as grileed fish with black bean sauce, sizzling beef steak, cumin beef, sauteed eggplant, triple bamboo, cucumber with scallion sauce, tomatoes and eggs, steam dumplings etc. I read some of the negative reviews and i have never experienced any of that. My parents and I come here almost every sunday for the past several months. Food is consistently good, prices are average or better then some of the other restaurants in Flushing. The wait staff are very attentive and nice. The owner always greets us warmly when he sees us. ...
Hunan Kitchen of Grand Szechuan used to operate here. It went through many owners, still retaining it's original chef. Unfortunately, this time around the change in ownership resulted in a huge decline in food quality and service. Incredibly high salt content combined with lots of palate dulling Szechuan pepper does not do much to mask the lower quality meats and inartfully prepared dishes, service was awful and careless from the first sitting, to walking out the door. We also shared the cucumber with scallion sauce, cumin lamb, steamed fish with chopped pepper, sautéed eggplant, sizzling beef, triple bamboos, sautéed pea shoots, soup dumplings and rice. Everything was shared with a big "lazy susan" in the middle, but actually it was a "hard working susan" because nobody could get enough of everything (but the dishes were large and the price extremely fair). Service was great and the atmosphere was really nice....
