If you are looking for a classic bowl of Pho. This is not the place. Honestly, this is the best pho in this area because there is not anyone to compete with. On a macro level if you have had Pho anywhere outside of NY then you know something is just off with the flavor profile. Maybe it's catered to more of the Chinese crowd because of the area. It's not authentic and very foreign coming from someone who grew up eating Pho every Sunday. It's very rare that I don't slurp up the soup broth to it's last drop but this is one of those cases where I just stare at the bowl and say.... it's not even worth wasting room in my stomach for.
We were adventurous today and tried the Softshell Crab Spring Rolls, It tasted burned which left a bitter taste in your mouth.
The pork chop rice combo was served with regular rice. The authentic way would be with broken rice. The Vietnamese egg meatloaf tasted either freezer burned or like it's been sitting in the fridge unwrapped then warmed up.
Nuoc mam was just sugar water with a splash of fish sauce.
It's all wrong wrong wrong and.... wrong...
Oh but let's talked about the good things they do
Service was phenomenal they were very attentive and was not difficult to get their attention.
The prices were very reasonable and maybe borderline cheap for NY.
So if you really don't know how to make pho at home and you live close by here then maybe you should go here? I just couldn't recommend this place to a family friend coming in from out of town as I would be embarrassed.

Read morePho Grand isn’t new, but they opened a new location in Flushing. They replaced another Vietnamese restaurant. They replaced the tables but the chairs and settings looks essentially the same. The register is no longer at the entrance. The sauces on the table are all new and they put up a huge tv by the entrance to the kitchen. . It’s your typically Vietnamese restaurant food. . What we ordered: 1- Calamari $9.95 - it was good, but maybe on the dry side, so you definitely needed the sweet & sour sauce 2- #1 Big Bowl $13.25- looks like they only have one size of the tradition noodle soup - the broth was on the light side, it was overly beefy or salty. It was good. And importantly, the broth was hot, it cooked the raw meat and bean sprouts. Pho best’s broth was never hot enough, I complained one time, and they gave me an attitude 🤷🏻♀️ 3- Grilled Pork Sandwich $9.95 - not to be mistaken with bahn mi, it’s just a grilled pork sandwich, like your pork chop rice but in a sandwich vs rice. It doesn’t have pate, mayo or any of the traditional bahn mi ingredients, maybe just the cilantro. This was very good. The bread was toasted and they give you a very good amount of grilled pork. But now that I look back, it probably been better with some fish sauce on the side for dipping. . Overall, we enjoyed our meal. I would like to go back and try their deluxe pho which comes with ox tail and another one of their sandwiches- they only have 3 options...

The bill came and we tipped her a certain amount and then our server comes back and is very pissed of at us because we tipped her “too low” and then she wanted what was the suggestion. We explained that that’s just a suggestion and not what we had to choose and the server got even more mad and behaved rude. When we changed the tip to one of the suggested tips server takes the pen from us and writes down the tip and then when we spoke up for the attitude and rude behavior of her grabbing the pen from us she said the tip was already paid we were trying to change it. Our bill was $95 we paid $100 in the beginning, server wanted more so after her being so rude we changed to $117. Since she grabbed the pen and tried to perfect the tip, we changed it to $108 which pissed her off. Never returning to this place. Tip is based on service and she kept pointing out how she served us by refilling the water. Update : the restaurant charged us $117 which was not what we paid. We paid $108. So they basically pulled...
