High Tide — Restaurant in New York

Pros: the atmosphere is gorgeous and you can't get much better for lunch in the area. Also, the food, once it was served correctly, was delicious.

Cons: the biggest con was the service. Both the hostess and our server were very rude, and acted like small requests (like asking for a straw) were very inconvenient. She left our table after serving drinks and we had to ask another waitress to get her after about 20 minutes so we could order our food.

Also, two of us ordered the tomato watermelon salad, which only has four ingredients. Two ingredients (basil and shiso) were missing when it arrived. After our waitress came back 5 minutes later, I had to ask about the other ingredients (I thought maybe they had run out and figured they could get away with not telling us?), and she seemed bothered but took our plates back to the kitchen and came back 10 minutes later with the correct full dish. We ordered a coke with no ice and our coke came watered down since we said no ice. Please don't water down drinks just put down the amount you would if no ice is requested. We don't want more coke. We just don't want ice.

Service was terrible. The 'gracias' woman who served us had an attitude the whole time. We ordered 2 orders of hotdogs and only one came. When I tried to get her attention, she ignored us. I had to get up and ask about the extra order which she obviously didn't punch in. To be fair she brought it out immediately. Bill came, and I started typing in the tip amount. So, this is for the owner; arrived shortly after 10pm on Friday, 6/28/25 at 10:05pm and the bar tender (with a pony tail and looked upset about something) gave us our drinks after taking her sweet time. Long story short, the view sells this place because the service is terrible. In fact, karma works in mysterious ways because at 10:45pm someone dined and dashed while on the staff’s watch (maybe too busy talking with the clients at the bar instead of attending to customer needs).
