I saw many reviews on here about how this place is under new ownership and the service and quality went way down. I went here because I wanted to try this place even though alot of the newer reviews are negative. I ordered the baked goods on the "too good to go" app. I did not see the African lady with the baby on her back, even though when I passed by a week prior, I saw her. The African lady that was there greeted me right away even though the line was at the door. She had many delivery orders. The woman ahead of me waiting on line was frustrated because the lady was busy and she was seemingly getting delivery orders instead of serving her when she was patiently waiting. When the lady ahead of me was finally served, she did not like the pricing or the wait. I came after her and showed the app and got a great amount of baked goods. They were all different flavored donuts. The donuts were really soft and good and I got them around 9pm. They were sugary, though. I was happy overall, but I think if I had to wait like that lady, I would also be upset. It just looks odd when you're waiting on the line and everyone else is being served, even though those people including me already paid prior. The prices are expensive, but it's Hell's Kitchen. At the time of writing this: One scoop of ice cream on a cone is $7+ and it's $2 more for an extra scoop. Tip: If you don't want ice cream, but want donuts or bagels then use the app. Just know that when using the app you can't pick...
Read moreLive down the street and walk by this place almost every night. Only experience with the manager (not sure who is being referred to but guessing its the big guy I see there often) is that he's in there a lot nights when I walk by frequently after 12-1am cleaning up. I will be happy to drop stars if I ever see him chewing out people or being crap with staff or customers as described in other reviews. In 4 or 5 times here I haven't had any bad experiences with service, reasonably quick and genuine smiles, seems to me.
If you go here for a donut, you're missing the point, just like if you're going here for straight-up ice cream. There is good variety of pretty sweet flavors, sometimes a couple are in the back freezer and you have to ask for them. Fresh or frozen, I think there's a strategy: the donuts are firmer, I imagine, cause they're built to maintain integrity as an ice cream sandwich. Just get the donut sandwich. They do a crazy job, when you cut into it with a spoon, it goes through like cake and you get this ice-cream-donut-toppings gorgeousness all whacked up together. The icing acts like a hard shell on soft-serve, and you can choose choc vanilla or straw. Toppings are also great--froot loops,...
Read moreI want to say something, I came to this place for the first time. The first thing I saw was a “manager” flipping out to one associate who was cleaning in the back. He started saying why he havent taken a break. I couldn’t help it and I jumped in the conversation. I told him that he was being very UNPROFESSIONAL, because I dont need to know what is going on in the store as a customer that I am, and whatever conversation he has with one of his associate, he needs to do it off the floor!! The first thing that came out of his mouth was “do you want free ice cream?” I was like I dont need you damn Ice cream! What I need you to do is be professional and take your conversation OFF THE FLOOR! I don’t understand how people can call “manager” when they have no respect to associates and they shouldnt be managers at all!! It might sound racist but the manager was a white men and the associate who he was going off on the floor was a black associate! Discounting place!! Not because of the associate, but because of the manager he was being rude!! I didnt spent not even one penny in the store ! Thanks to that “manager” he was here on...
