So I ordered a seafood boil for takeout as I was craving seafood. This is my first time visiting this location so I decided to give it a try. I ordered the mini crab leg seafood boil as it was explained to me, it consisted of one cluster of crab legs which is typically 4-5 legs. There’s an option for a larger boil with 2 clusters. It comes with 2 potatoes and 1 corn & you can add additional sides for an additional price. I ordered some sausage and an additional corn as well as their garlic bread sticks. The garlic bread sticks were super oily and inedible. Absolutely disgusting!!! It appears that it was some type of fried bread/dough kind of thing.. I can’t even explain what it was but it was saturated in grease, not butter. It was instantly tossed in the garbage. Crab legs are my favorite food in general. I have eaten an extensive amount throughout my life even making them quite often. Don’t let the picture deceive you. These were the smallest crab legs I’ve ever seen. I didn’t even know crab legs could be that little. I don’t know if the mini boil is conducive to the size of the crab legs but that’s exactly what they were, mini. They were unseasoned, barely any meat inside and flavorless if not for the garlic butter sauce. The sausage & potatoes were good but the corn wasn’t fresh as I believe they use frozen corn. It was hard and overcooked. I did take out so the service was average but they also do KPOT & Hot Pot there so the server politely explained to me how it works as I was looking at the menu. I wanted to try out their KPOT but since my seafood boil was so disappointing, I don’t think I’ll be back.

I stopped by with a friend to try out the seafood. If you Iive in Brooklyn it’s definitely out the way. When you enter the restaurant, it has an aquatic theme to it. Making it family friendly. I was confused by the table at first. They have these silver buckets at the end for your trash. I got the Miami vice to drink. Which was like a pina colada with strawberry flavor. My friend got the regular pina colada. We started with the fried calamari and chicken wings. The calamari was fresh and flavorful. I really enjoyed them. For the wings we got Cajun and buffalo. The Cajun could’ve used some more dry rub but the flavor didn’t disappoint. The buffalo was sauced up and paired well with ranch. For the main dish, we had to get the seafood boil. I’m not a big fan of seafood boils but this was pretty good. It came with the full package. Crab legs, lobster, and crawfish. A good amount of vegetables in the mix. Everything tasted fresh and the flavor was there. Service could’ve been a little better. In terms of us needing small things like napkins, water, etc. The restaurant wasn’t packed at all so I wasn’t expecting the delay. One thing I could say it’s big so it may be hard for servers to be attentive to every need. I would still come back but with family.

A friend of mine recommended that I try Hook and Reel the next time I was in the neighborhood so this is where my story begins. I go inside about 8:13 or so look at the menu based on pictures I already knew what I wanted to try but my husband was undecided nevertheless we both decided on Po Bo sandwiches one chicken and one shrimp. So 8:17 the order is placed and we was told it would take about 15-20 minutes. Now it’s 8:50 and orders are steady going out uber, doordash, phone orders, walk-in etc so I approach the very professional young lady who was calling out the orders and asked her what was the delay. She then asked my name looked on her little tablet and immediately went to manager whispered something approached me and said I’m sorry your order was NEVER sent to the kitchen, we will send it now an ā€œEXPEDITEā€ your order. The manager then comes over and says I’m sorry I went in the kitchen and had them stop and put your order in next (BS). FINALLY the 2 sandwiches came out at 9:20. I have NEVER been in a restaurant where it was there fault and not been compensated somehow. I couldn’t believe the manager brought out the food and all he said was sorry, didn’t take anything off the bill, add anything, at the very least offer us a soft drink. Very poor customer service but the I must admit the food was tasty. After the experience and the results I’m not sure if I would go back or even recommend, First impressions mean a lot. I purposely left out the part about the young lady who took the order, who hate for anyone to loose there job in these trying times. Hook and Reel, you have to do better. The āļø was for the...

Where do we BEGIN?!!? I arrived an hour before closing but my party was already there. Before I can announce that my party was already there, the hostess told me indoor dining was closed. I informed her my party was sitting right behind her and she continued to inform me indoor dining was closed. I asked even if my party is right there as I pointed to them and then she decided to listen to me and say "OH! Okay!" So first strike, they do not listen. Moving on, as I arrived to my table, my party told me the drinks were lack luster but I still wanted to give them a try so I ordered their Strawberry Hennessy. There was NO HENNESSY in my beverage. Henny has a distinct taste and my drink tasted like Cherry Kool-Aid. Unfortunately, my party was correct, the drinks were weak. If you're not into cocktails you for sure would get a mocktail. When one of the persons from my party tried to contact our waitress, she pretended to not see us. Food was not well seasoned. Can tell the potatoes were boiled separate from our seafood boil. We asked for spicy, they gave us buffalo sauce. Since when does Buffalo sauce go with seafood, im not sure but thats what they offered, on the side, as a dipping sauce. It got to the point were the owner had to serve us. All in all, I can go on and on about the experience but it was TRASH! The only positive experience was the waitress at the end whom we spoke to before the manager handled our bill. Will never...
