Boston Market — Restaurant in New York

For the last few years we have done a catered Thanksgiving meal. But unfortunately, our preferred location closed last year in Manhattan. So, we had to choose this location for pick up as its close to home and we preferred not to go to the Pennsylvania Ave location. Honestly, you would miss it in this plaza as there not much around. Very isolated and limited parking. When we got there, there was epic line but it moved surpisingly fast. Very impressed. Check in was quick and the wait to pick up food was only 10 minutes later than our initial time frame pick up. Compared to last year were everything was disorganized from top to bottom, I was very happy. The box provided this year was packed nicely in Boston market box not in a huge oversized uhaul box loaded with items making it difficult to carry. They even provided a cart to carry out your items to your car if needed. Last year's location didn't offer that option. The box was easy to carry and we were also provided a box filled with a table cloth, utensils, napkins, plates, and tongs. Again, last year's location only gave us a tablecloth and utensils. The food was hot on arrival at the house and was delicious!! The ribs, sweet potato casserole was omg !! All the food was amazing. You have enough food to not cook for days. The line at this location was organized and ran smoothly as there was multiple staff checking in those who catered or those who were ordering for pick up and the staff was very nice. There was no disgruntled customers compared to last year were people left BM annoyed, sad, and unsatisfied. My experience coming to the Boston market in Brooklyn was awful to say the least. I felt 100% discriminated against based on my skin color , because I'm white . I came on thanksgiving and waited 30 min for the turkey to be done, but the wait time was not the issue at all. The lady working behind the counter came up to the lady who was sitting rite next to me and was offering her my turkey. The lady was only there 10 min and was about to walk away with my turkey all because she's black and I'm not. When u tired to ask if that's my order , the employee wouldn't even make eye contact with me and continued to ignore me . It got so disrespectful that even the lady who was offered my turkey felt bad and preceded to say that it It had to be mine cause I was there way before her. They don't use names when they take your order so they can easily give your order away based on preference. When she found out that it was my order , she didn't even apologize but continued to be nasty by having a attitude and complaining that I had questions about certain prices for sides. She was rolling her eyes and not treating me a customer who was spending over 200$ on my order. I have never been treated in such a way in my life especially on thanksgiving. I would never return there and would rather drive to the Boston market on states island . The employee should be trained with some manners and professionalism before she takes on a job working with people from all different backgrounds and skin complexions. I love the service here the food is hot and fresh the employees are especially nice. I had the pleasure of being service by one of their employee's name Ashley, she was very patience and nice, even when there were having issues with the online service menu. Ashely customer service was really outstanding. I strongly recommend that other companies employees learn from this young lady how to treat people. I have been to this store and also there in person and online too and she remains the same way professionally. I also like the hisspanic manger I forgot his name and their butcher who also happens to be black and handles the meat and does his job very well, but they really to help you if theres a problem, the staff will also go above and beyond to meet the consumer expection to ensure that you leave as a satisfy customer it really does makes you feel good as a consumer. I also like that they don't skimp on the food because theres nothing like feeling like you being cheater out of your hard earn money. One of the great success of any company is when you feel and see the customer happy and satisfied and you got your monies worth. I know because my family were former owners of a soul food restraunt and the people really love how well all the staff treated them and made each person feel special that we gave them their moneys worth and how they loved the food the smiles on their face was priceless.
