SNIPES — Local services in New York

I thought this store would be a good addition to the neighborhood, but sadly it’s not. I’ve been here a handful of times (typically on Saturdays when I’m bored), but today (March 22nd) was the worse and you know it was bad because I’m writing a review which I never do. So I walk in and at first only see this heavyset hispanic man with thin hair walking around aimlessly (no greeting strike 1), and nobody else. I proceed to search the store for these sneakers that I saw online and the inventory is not the best but all in all it’s a decent selection. Grant it they're not a Footlocker or Champs, but I still try and work with them because they’re close by and to avoid going to the Brooklyn Zoo aka Kings Plaza I didn’t mind stopping by. After about two minutes of scanning the rows of their mediocre, mid inventory another young man (skinny, avg height, african american) pops up and he and the heavyset hispanic guy start gossiping about god knows what on the sales floor like two high school girls without acknowledging the paying customer (me). I normally don’t request help especially when I visit stores in this neighborhood because this type of behavior is expected (sad, but true) but I wanted these sneakers lol and I just concluded that maybe they were online exclusives. I decided to interrupt the two airheads conversation and asked them if this was their only brand of sneakers and they both looked at me like I killed one of their family members and replied with a dry “yes”. The customer service was so lackluster and left a awful taste in my mouth, so bad that I immediately exited the store and ran to the starbucks’s across from them to quench my thirst with a refreshing Strawberry Açaí lemonade where the employees are attentive, and appreciative of my money. The store (Snipes) was empty when I walked in and now I see why and should’ve took this as my sign to walk right back out. I will continue to go to Manhattan for my sneaker needs where people actually come to work to work and not stand around taking up air. For all that they should hire robots, I guarantee they would do a better job than the two individuals that were on site today. Based on the other reviews. Worst customer experience from a retail store. Went in to purchase a NB shoe on 12/31/23, one store associate said my size wasn’t available, I kindly asked another store associate (the cashier), Shanice if she was able to order my size to where I can pick up my shoe there & she said yes, she then took my info only to place the order incorrectly causing my order to be canceled. I found out via email an hour later. I had to go right back to the store to receive the news that they cannot resolve this by issuing and refund nor can they fix the order details. I had to go right back on New Year’s Day to speak with another associate, who then got the manager on duty involved who then called their district manager only to find out, there’s nothing they can do and I will have to wait for my refund. Let’s just be clear this mistake was not my fault and they should have done a lot better to resolve this issue and have to shoe shipped to the store or provide the immediate credit to where I would have been able to place the order that same day not wait 5 business day for my refund then go back to order the merchandise. Customer service wasn't it for me. The guys told me it's only me n the other guy in the store so we can't go look for the size sneaker you need. Whatever size you see that all we have, but as soon as some females came in the store they running downstairs to go check the now saying oh we still don't have no size for you. Without even checking. They were jumping hoops and all for the ladies. They weren't trying to help any of the the guys in the store just because they get to exchange numbers with the females and Instagram. They need to do better because Customer are Customer. It's not like I was being rude or cursing at anyone but such is life and how I forget this part. We got stuff to do so we can't go downstairs stairs like the merchandise are for display and not for sale. Crazy people bad...
