Won't be back again, with a heavy heart.
When I first visited the place for a takeout (around 5PM on a Thursday), I waited for almost an hour for my food. I sat there patiently and when I asked the cashier lady the ETA for the food after 45 minutes of waiting, she did say sorry and my food came about around 10 minutes after that. I was not happy about the wait, especially when I saw dining-in customers who got there after me get their food first. However, the bakso and lontong sayur was delicious so I let that go, hoping it was a "right place, wrong time" type of incident.
Today, I went with my husband to dine-in for lunch. The food came out pretty quickly. However, my lontong sayur had no chicken (I did pay extra) and my husband's mie goreng had a strand of stainless steel scrubber on it (see picture). The lady did offer to cook us a new plate, saying that "the chef is new, sorry".
My second bowl of lontong sayur was delicious. I finished it clean (see picture). But when my husband tried his second plate of mie goreng, he tasted burnt parts (see picture) and the chicken was still underseasoned. My husband loves mie goreng so he was disappointed, and I also felt bad because I asked him to come with me to Indomix for lunch...and he had to leave the restaurant with no appetite.
I remember being so excited to hear that this place opened - thinking that I don't need to drive all the way to Elmhurst for Indonesian food anymore....but it is truly, truly a bummer that after trying this place twice, I won't be returning...despite the fact that I love indonesian food and Indomix is only 10 minutes walk from my place. So so sad that I have to leave a bad review about a small business in the neighborhood, but just wanted to share my...
Read moreMy friends and I had dinner here at Indomix and it was fantastic! We ordered the beef rendang, ayam bumbu, mie goreng, martabak asin, and bakso—everything was delicious. Finally, an authentic Indonesian restaurant in Brooklyn, and I can confidently say that the bakso here is the best I've ever had among Indonesian spots in New York.
I also tried the cendol, and it was truly outstanding. Its quality and taste easily rival those found in Indonesia—arguably even better than what you usually get back home.
The hospitality was amazing as well—Mas Heri, Mbak Tia, and Mas Prada were all super lovely and attentive. We’ll definitely be back, and we’re even planning to order catering...
Read moreHaving an Indonesian partner means high standards for Indo classics - and even she was impressed by this spot! The martabak and chicken sate especially were delicious. The rendang was also tasty and tender - and apparently authentic (per her).
The service was lovely and we are rooting for these wonderful people to get the support they deserve. Not to mention they partner with Sweet Mason who is also sweet and sells delicious desserts in the same store (recommend the banana pudding)!
Also they offer free delivery which we will certainly be...
