Read moreI'm confused by the great reviews. The only good thing about this place is that there is no wait on a Saturday night.
It’s surprisingly mediocre and uneven. "Speakeasy" is a loose term for this cocktail bar. If you do end up here, it's probably best to stay at the bar area in the front. It's unfortunate since the front was intriguing but ended up being a sterile experience.
Food: One star off for the food. The dim sum skin was overcooked and fell apart immediately. I get it, you're a bar, not a restaurant. The truffle fries were fine.
Cocktails: The "Sticky Situation" drink was good but lacked any style for being $21. We did like the roasted rice smell, but couldn't it have a garnish? The Saechai Kick was just your average sour drink.
Ambience: The acoustics are really bad and everything is just too bright. This is not a great date spot like it should be. It lacks intimacy and attention to detail (e.g., a sad tiny red lantern and napkins that looked like they belong in a cafe, not a "lux speakeasy"). They paid a designer for the first half of the bar and then tried to design everything themselves in the back, and it shows. The music choice is questionable...
Service: Nice but not well-trained. If my drink is still in front of me, don’t try to clear the table and take it away.
I generally overlook vibes if the food is good, but at a cocktail bar, the vibes...
Read more❤️ Overview: The first time my husband and I came here, we went to get drinks before our valentines dinner that was somewhere else. But once I saw that soup dumplings were on their food menu, I had to get them. And man am I happy that we did. They were delicious! They are pricy for soup dumps, but you get a variety of different flavors that I think is worth it! My favorites were the mala and truffle ones. SO GOOD! The drinks we got as well were all really good! Very creative and fun.
The second time we came, we went with the intention and getting dinner. Of course, we got the soup dumplings! Overall, I really like this place and will be coming back.
