I almost never leave reviews, but I have never had such a terrible experience in my life. This place is an absolute disgrace to Peruvian cuisine. The food was bland, flavorless, and completely unauthentic. I ordered ceviche and pollo a la brasa, and both were a disaster. The ceviche didn’t even come with cancha unless you paid extra and even then, it wouldn’t have saved the horrible flavor of the ceviche. It was missing essential ingredients like ají limo, leaving it flat and tasteless. The pollo a la brasa was dry and flavorless, more like stale grocery store rotisserie chicken than the iconic dish it’s supposed to be. To make it worse, they don’t even include fries and salad with it you have to pay separately. The salad was another joke, served with some random store bought dressing instead of the classic Peruvian vinaigrette. And if the food wasn’t bad enough, the service was worse. The employee taking my order was clearly miserable, rushing me and rolling her eyes. When I tried to explain that the food was inedible and not authentic, she dismissed me and said “no one has ever complained.” I ended up paying $51 for two terrible items and was denied a refund I had to dispute the charge with my bank. Looking at the reviews now, I see I’m not the only one. The chef is not Peruvian, the staff isn’t either, and honestly, I doubt the owner is Peruvian. As a Peruvian, I can confidently say this place does not represent our rich gastronomy. It’s a mockery and an insult to Peru. Quite a shame.
Read moreWe had lunch today at Kinwa and we left the restaurant 5 minutes and my husband realized his credit card was missing after paying the bill went back to the restaurant and it couldn’t be found. The reason was the guy behind us went to our table, saw the card and paid for his bill $192.33 on our credit card. The waitress was not being vigilant and saw the same credit card in my husband’s name and again 5 minutes later with a stranger paying his bill!?!!?!! That is theft! We called the credit card company immediately and bingo there was the evidence. So my advice is be very careful there.. not a good feeling at all! I cannot give a good review to this place. We will...
Read moreCame for dinner three times now with family and the food is always delicious! We love our waitress Millie, she's always so kind, attentive, very thoughtful and wonderful to talk to! We're so grateful she's been there every time we go in! The chefs pay attention to detail in the dishes and they have a tasty, authentic Peruvian flavor. Comes as no surprise because the new owner is Peruvian himself. Thank you for the wonderful...
