We visited the Times Sq. location for the first time as my daughter was wanting to have the omurice which is a difficult dish to find (done well) in NYC. When we walked in we were transported by the authentic ambiance on the restaurant. There is stool bar seating in the front and private dining seating in the back. We made reservations so were accommodated in the private seating area. I throughly enjoyed the private dining experience. You are provided with a call button to alert the waiter when you are ready to order, need assistance, and are ready for your bill. It is a courteous touch that adds to the private dining experience. We ordered the Kyushu Tonkotsu Shio Ramen with Black Garlic, Spicy Kyushu Tonkotsu Ramen, Omurice with demiglaze, Omurice with Pork Tonkatsu and curry sauce. To drink we had the Thai Iced Tea, and a Kyoto White Yuzu. For dessert we ordered the ube cake. Everything was served promptly. Both ramen dishes were of a generous portion with chewy wavy noodles and creamy broth just like I like my ramen. The black garlic really added depth to the dish. Highly recommend it. The omurice dishes were good. Both sauces were delicious but the preferred sauce was the demiglaze. The Thai iced tea was creamy and refreshing. The Kyoto White Yuzu beer was very light with a hint of sweetness. It was a nice pallet cleanser from the rich broth and curry. The star of the night was hands down the ube cake. There were more than ten layers of thin pastry with a slight sweet and rich ube cream layered in between. It was a very light and decadent sweet ending to a overall good meal. We were not rushed and sat until we were ready to call for our bill. It was a very pleasant and authentic experience. I would highly recommend it.

Wouldn't recommend this spot to my worst enemy. Food was bad and customer service was barely tolerable. This is a fair warning to anyone who listens to the hype of tik tok/shorts as not everything on social media turns out to be good, in fact many "popular" places turn out to be a dud.

So my friend and I went there while on our trip to nyc and we quickly got seated. I started looking at the menu and saw a really good deal where they offered an appetizer, a ramen bowl, a desert and a non alcoholic drink for 30 dollars. I opted to take said offer and made an additional order of Bao Buns to try and here is how I'd rate the food from gross to decent:

For appetizer I got the popcorn chicken and man was it gross. It was small chicken thigh pieces that were coated with a weird looking brown panko mixture. If that wasn't bad enough the chicken sucked up a lot of oil so it was super greasy and flavorless. Add to it , the appetizer came with no dipping sauce and it made me feel like I'm munching on small pieces of cardboard. Definitely stay away.

Trying the bao buns was slightly better, but that isn't much to go by. I ordered a chicken and a pork bun. The chicken was decent but definitely recommend the pork better as it was more tender. Regardless what made me lose all hope was the bun itself. Bao buns are supposed to be fluffy and airy. But this was dense and clumped together, making me feel like I'm eating a thick piece of bread. The sauce on it was also very light which practically added 0 flavor to an already suffering dish. 👎👎

The ramen bowl was a bit better but that was because on the side of the table was three small jars of spices that you can add as toppings on your bowl. My favorite was this spicy garlic paste mixture which significantly enhanced the ramen bowls flavor. Without it, the soup was not very flavorful and the ramen was nothing to write home about.

The desert was a cherry blossom jelly dish which was very refreshing and ended what I deem a "very bad night" in terms of food quality. It was the perfect dish to for a light but still tasty desert. Would recommend..

During my "lovely" experience I had the lemonade drink. Again, nothing to write home about and I thank the gods that they didn't ruin that either as that drink was the only thing that powered me through their "delicious " array of foods. BTW they add a bit too much ice to dilute the drink but at this point it's kind of useless to even argue.

Two things irk me about that location especially after my experience. The first being is that they can only split the bill between 2 cards and only do so evenly. We are in the 21st century and you don't have the capability to split and itemize the bill properly? For God's sake McDonald's can do that 🤣 The second was a sign posted on the wall of every table warning that their will be no refunds on dishes ordered because and I quote "the dish wasn't good" . At first I was perplexed as to why they would ever need to post a sign like that but, after I finished my meal I can definitely understand why. This place is gross on many aspects, don't be a fool like me and believe the tik tok hype. Go for a ramen place that is more...

The place was highly anticipated due to something my group and I saw in TikTok. So we decided to end our day in the city eating in Kyuramen. We made reservation ahead of time and was seated right on time. The place feels authentic, especially with its separate booth that provides privacy while adding to the ambiance. About 10-15 minutes, we placed our order and awaited for our meal patiently. Instead of the appetizer, two combos As were brought out first along with our drinks. A bit strange, but we didn't think too much on it. About 45 minutes later, still nothing. A person came in to see how we are liking our food, which we informed them we are still waiting for everyone else's meals. She left, and we waited another 10 minutes. By then, we rang them through the device on the wall to check in on our order. Ignored, we pressed it again, and finally we got someone to come in and then they explained there was an issue with the computer. As everyone else around the restaurant was eating, we continued to wait as the frustration continues to brew. Ringing once more, the person explained that it would be another 10-15 minutes. Finally, about that time we finally got a couple more dishes we ordered but not the entire order. Mind you, this is a party of 7 and only 3 got their food. The four that remained were waiting well over an hour and half for their food. Eventually everyone got their order, but the food lacked flavor, the service was terrible and the overall experience was a let-down. We had high hopes for this place, but it only resulted in our disappointment and frustration. They offered a 10% discount for the inconvenience, but it doesn't change the fact that our ending was a bust. The popcorn chicken was the best thing we had, and that was the appetizer we ordered. Aside from the food, and the staff, the place also has some issues. The bathroom's floor was slippery, not sure due to a leak or patrons with poor coordination skills 'to aim', but it was not safe. The hallway was also slippery with no sign warning people in general. My group and I were not satisfied one bit, and regretted going there. We all agreed that we are not going to come back there again. Not sure about everyone else, but we did not get to experience the things we saw in the social media. No magic at all. The place has potential, but failed in its execution. Sorry for my rant, but this is after a day of...

Honestly was so excited to try the place but me and my coworkers left very disappointed.

When we came in we were asked if we have a reservation and sadly we don’t we were asked to be seated right on the door my coworker asked if we would be able to seat at the back because she has been here before we were told that it was only for reserved reservations only so we just sat on the table they offered us.

When we were seated, we informed our server we have coupons we would like to redeem because as I have said my coworker has been there before and they have this thing going that if you order a ramen at the end you may get a free ramen or a dessert or etch and the last time they went they both won a free ramen from 1-9 and a dessert and they have 2 weeks to redeem.

We were asked immediately what ramen we want and we asked if we could get a minute. I’m not sure if it’s the attentiveness but we were asked 3x times if we were ready to order then we were like okay lets just get whatever.

We got the yingyang ramen, the regular pork chasu I think it’s number 1- (this is mid it was served luke warm) a calamari thingy (really good!), and a chicken rice burger (originally eel but they don’t have avocado- which I don’t mind because it’s not their fault) thai iced tea and a peach soju.

We all feel like we were being judged and given looks because we have coupons to redeem. We worked in a customer service based industry as well so we kept saying thank you whenever a food get to the table or when we ask for something (extra bowls, etc)

When it was time to pay, we gave the coupons to our server— I was told originally that we can’t redeem the ramen coupon because we were told we didn’t order a ramen that’s valid for it.

At this point I just wanna get out of there pay and leave- but my co worker told the lady that we did order we ordered the #1.

And then they just gave it to us- I paid and left and honestly not coming back.

If you are an establisment who runs these kinds of coupon stuff, please don’t treat your customers like this (given looks, felt judged and just overall a bad experience)

We went to this place to have a good time and eat good food it just so happens that we have a coupons we can use. If you told us right there and there we can’t use it. I wouldn’t care and would pay full price if I would be...
