So let me breakdown my rationale for my review in two separate components:

Gelato: Unique and deliciously-tasting flavors with a large variety to choose from! The pear and grape were some of our favorites since you can literally taste the actual fruits in the creamy gelato. I definitely recommend coming here for the unique flavors and I promise you won't regret it!

Now if the gelato deserved such praise, why is it only 3 stars?

Service: The lady at the gelato counter was visibly irritated and made sure to sigh out loud multiple times whenever we asked for something, whether it was to get a bag to carry our ice cream pints to-go (which seem like something you wouldn't need to even ask if you're purchasing multiple pints...), or to try a few flavors to see which one we liked the most (we tried 4, which I would like to think was not too unreasonable). Her dissatisfaction-ridden facial expression and her dismissive attitude really makes this sweet experience extremely bitter, which is so unfortunate because I heard the other lady was so kind, sweet, and even offered our friends more flavors to try just so we know what to get the next time we come back.

So overall, if you just want to get your gelato-fix and don't care about service, definitely come and try their flavors before they close down for the season! If you do decide to give this place a try, I hope you get to experience the kind, sweet lady who makes your heart warm despite eating cold and delicious gelato!

Thank you for reading and good luck! (:

P.S. The unpleasant lady worked the night shift on October 27, 2022, I just don't want the owners who read this to blame the wrong staff...

This place is super authentic and has fantastic Italian food fare, and I'm pretty sure everyone who works there is Italian too. It's the real deal. Expect excellent food, beautiful room, plenty of itlaian olive oils and other cute gifts at the front desk you can buy, fair prices, and great wine, but their customer service could use some improvement. We had a big birthday there, probably spent about $700, but they charged us for bread for the table when we specifically asked if we could have some only if we wouldn't be charged for it. The manager quickly took it off the check and apologized, but I was slightly put off for three reasons: 1. I had read in a previous review that they did this and so I specifically made a point of asking before ordering 2. We just dropped $700+ on a fabulous meal, who charges for bread? 3. Could have been charged by accident or could have been taken advantage of because we were all drinking, it was a little weird. I will give them the benefit of the doubt because this is truly a unique place and the decor and gelato far make up for anything else, and the staff are truly very friendly. I think the longer they are around they will work out the kinks in customer service/hospitality. I look forward to coming back and I hope others will continue to have a...

The food was downright flawless, we had the savory gelato platter which included a little bread, two types of gelato, and a paired cheese. It was divine! The menu looks simply terrific and not too crazy pricey.

The only reason I've held back from giving this 5 stars was the service, it was dreadful. Our waiter got our order incorrect, which lead to an argument we could see and hear from where we sat. We got a terse sorry from the owner which made us feel as if we'd ordered incorrectly (we didn't, we even pointed out what we wanted on the menu to ensure we weren't confused). All up we waited 25 minutes for our plate of two pieces of bread, a little cheese, and two scoops of gelato, no apologies from the waiter. We'll go again in a heartbeat, but be warned that the food is heaven and the...

Butter and salt flavor?!?? How could I not try such a unique offering? It was extraordinary! Never tasted an ice cream flavor like this, yet the taste itself was comforting and familiar. Sent me to a simple comfortable place, a place Ive never been but know is out there. Maybe a small little-known Italian town where only Italian is spoken and the people are warm and nice. A place with no tourists and loudness. One with travelers, serenity and goodness. Seekers of life. Holders of perpetual curiosity. Dreamers. Smilers. Lovers. Hopers. A place of love and celebration… thats where your butter and salt gelato took me.

Exceptional, delicious and authentic organic gelato. The flavors were so real and texture was amazing. Great prices and decent portions. A top 5 in NYC for me for sure. They had 18 flavors (6 vegan), with classical and some innovative ones like blueberry cheesecake, salt and butter, olive oil, grape etc. They allow sampling and the prices were decent ($8 for 3 scoops). I got the chocolate hazelnut, blueberry cheesecake and the special concord grape sorbet. All three were amazing, especially the grape sorbet. Will definitely comeback for more.
