L'avion Café — Restaurant in New York

What a gem this place is! I've been coming here regularly since they opened last fall. L'avion offers an interesting and creative variety of beverages, but for me it's always the basics- they pull a damn fine shot of espresso.

A variety of light bites are available as well as sandwiches during lunchtime. I'm partial to the spinach and feta pastry personally, but indulged in a cinnamon roll the other day that was to die for, and don't get me started on the all edge mini brownies!

The decor is cute and, true to the name, inspired by aviation. There are many thoughtful design touches throughout, and if you want to grab a table and linger, cozy seating is available, as well as charming sidewalk tables you might find in Paris.

As always, it isn't five stars without an amazing staff, and L'avion does not disappoint either. Mike, Olivia, and Simone are friendly, hard working, professional, and never fail to start my day off right. One of the best café experiences I’ve had in NYC! L’avion Café on 92nd Street is such a beautiful and peaceful spot — perfect for anyone looking to escape the city noise for a bit and enjoy a quiet moment.

The coffee is absolutely delicious, rich in flavor and clearly made with care. I also loved the variety on the menu — something for every taste, whether you’re grabbing a quick espresso or sitting down for a longer break.

What really stood out to me was the atmosphere. The street it’s on is quiet and charming, which adds so much to the overall vibe. You can actually hear yourself think — something rare in Manhattan! The space is cozy and welcoming, with a stylish interior and a calming energy that makes you want to stay longer than planned.

The staff were friendly and professional, and the prices were very reasonable, especially for the quality.

Honestly the coffee itself is amazing, big fan of multiple drinks here so giving the cafe a 3 stars hurts a bit. That being said, I've recently been taking my business to other spots because the baristas at Lavion are rude. The lady barista especially is extremely rude, not just to me, but I've noticed to multiple other customers as well. On her phone when we walked into the store, just blunt and rude the whole time, and talked extremely condescending. While I enjoy the drinks, I don't look forward to coming in due to the rude customer service and as a result have been going to other local spots instead such as Keemof, Madam...
