My first introduction to Peruvian food over +20 years ago.... and the restaurant that I brought dozens of people to. The restaurant that exploded the trend of Peruvian rotisserie chicken and the famous “green hot sauce.”
I remember getting the 1/4 chicken, salad and pork fried rice for $4 back then and it was not only an amazing deal but so fresh and delicious because the chicken was cooked right there. The lines were massive so the turnover kept the supply fresh. People would steal bottles of “green sauce” back in the day because you couldn’t get it anywhere else? You pour that sauce on your rice and chicken all day! I ordered everything at this restaurant from the aguadito, Lomo saltado to the legendary 1/4 chicken, Rib, pork fried rice and Salad combo!
The huge beef rib was incredible with that green sauce!
I never knew there were so many Asians in Peru but the food they made was so amazing, I eventually had to fly to Peru years later!
This place is a legendary spot and I’m so surprised it doesn’t have over 1,000 reviews yet and I’m assuming it’s because the original location in Woodside closed down or because so many other Peruvian joints opened up afterwards but most of the Pollos a la brasa is served in other restaurants with rice and beans or rice and plantains but this was the only place that served it with prom fried rice and the Rib!

Read moreIt honestly pains me to write this. I used to love coming here. I grew up on this place, it was always packed, often with a line out the door. Sadly, those days are long gone, and it’s now obvious why. The quality has gone way downhill. The chicken portions are noticeably smaller, but that’s not even the worst part. What really shocked me was how I was treated when trying to make a simple, health-conscious request. I attempted to order two white meat meals, as both my mother and I have cholesterol issues and cannot eat dark meat. I was told I had to order a mix of white and dark meat, that they “don’t allow” two white meat meals. Even after explaining the health concerns, they still refused. The only “solution” offered was to buy a half chicken (with dark meat we can’t eat) and then purchase an additional quarter white meat. On top of that, they tried to charge me an extra $3 for it. Being told what I can and cannot order especially when it relates to a health issue is absurd. And trying to sneak in extra charges for a workaround that they forced on me? That’s just bad business. This place has lost its heart and its standards. If you’re thinking about coming here …don’t. There are far better spots that actually care about...
Read moreI want to rate this restaurant with a 0 restaurant service!!!! But i can't, this is the WORST Peruvian restaurant that i ever been in my life in the UNITED STATES of North AMERICA. The kitchen is run by a bunch DELINQUENTS. A BUNCH OF RUFFIANS THAT DON'T HAVE RESPECT FOR NO ONE!! I SAW THEM FIGHTING IN FRONT OF THE CUSTOMERS AND CHILDREN. ONE COOK PUNCH HIS COOWORKER IN THE FACE AND THIS COUNTERATTACK!!! THEY USED THEIR KITCHENWARE AS WEAPONS!!! I TOLD THE GUY, WHO LOOKS LIKE A JAIL HOUSE MANAGER, THAT RIGHT BEHIND HIM THERE WAS A FIGHT!!! HE SHRUGGED AND SAY IT WASNT HIS BUSINESS!!! UNBELIEVABLE BUT TRUE!!! I ASK HIM IF WAS THE MANAGER BUT SAID NO...I TOLD HIM THAT WHAT JUST HAPPENED WAS A LACK OF RESPECT TO THE GUESTS AND THIS RESTAURANT. AND THESE 2 COOKS MUST BE FIRED RIGHT ON THE SPOT!!! BUT THE JAIL HOUSE MAN LIKE STATED THAT HE IS JUST A EMPLOYEE AND NOT A SNITCHER???I WAS FLABARGASTED AND UPSET. UNFORTUNATELY, SOME PEOPLE ARE SO IGNORANT, AND DON'T HAVE A CENT OF RESPECT TO THEMSELVES, ARE VIOLENT, AND AT ANY MOMENT CAN EXPLODE LIKE A BOMB!!! WON'T BE SURPRISED IF ONE OF THIS DAYS SOMEONE GETS STAB AND KILL IN THIS RESTAURANT!!!! THIS RESTAURANT MUST URGENTLY HIRE A...
