It’s July 4th, came after work late at night for my birthday celebration with my girlfriend. Went in and the first waiter, let’s call her 1st, came and told me there will be a 20-30 min wait. I said okay. Then the second waiter, let’s call him 2nd, came and said “do you guys want to come back and we will call you?” I told him no, it’s fine, we will wait. Then A came and said “they are just cleaning up one of the tables and will be ready shortly” I said okay awesome. As they were cleaning, another group of people came in for a table and asked for 2nd (waiter) to seat them. Then they got seated before us, idk if it’s bc they had a reservation or they are friends with 2nd waiter, but I was confused on why they were seated before us. Then the 1st waiter saw that table was taken and asked the 2nd waiter about it. The crazy thing is that I see them looking at me talking about the table that was supposedly for us but given to another group after us. Then 1st waiter embarrassingly came to the front and said sorry about the table confusion but the table is occupied, do you wanna come back later? At that point, I was annoyed but kept my cool and told her I will wait for another table which we did and finally got seated after 10 more min. We then order multiple of skewers with one drink and a crepe. Before she left, she asked if we wanted water and we said yes please. After 10 min, there was no water so I had to remind her about the water which was fine. When the food came out, first thing was the drink and the crepe cake, I was suprise because wasn’t the dessert supposed to come last? I don’t wanna seem difficult so I left it to the side and waited for the skewers which came after another 10 min. The food was great, better skewers than any other places I have had. Then I asked the 2nd waiter for a small rice since I know the skewers would go fantastic with it so I saved my skewers until the rice comes. I waited 10 min and It didn’t come until I had to remind the 2nd waiter about the rice that he had forgotten. I was wondering that if I didn’t reminded him, would the rice never have come? At that point, my skewers were cold and it was just unpleasant. At least the rice was hot and steamy to make up for it.
In the end, it is what it is. I am giving them the benefit of the doubt that it’s probably because it’s July 4th and they were really busy but they need to implement somthing to help them with what to keep track of. I think out of everyone there, we were the only one that wasn’t given the best service. The wait time for everything was crazy. Waiter forgetting orders and it was just unpleasant.
I am only giving two stars for interior decoration/design and the food. I really like their skewers and mango crepe but im sorry, service was just not it. It was really frustrating sitting there waiting for service
Went in around 12:30 Am, came out 2:30 somthing. I feel like if everything was on time, we would of came...
Read moreI was stunned by how horrible the service was. Staff prioritizes friends than customers. My friend and I walked into the restaurant and Server 1 tells us that we had to wait for a table as there were no tables available at the moment. We said okay we don’t mind waiting. A few minutes later, a table left and other servers were cleaning the table. Then, a group of 4 comes in. Server 2 (male blonde dyed hair with glasses) approaches the group of 4 and tells them to follow him there’s a table available. One of the people from the group puts his arm around the server and smiles. They walk towards the table that was just cleaned. My friend and I stood there in disbelief. Server 1 and 2 had to stand in the middle of the restaurant and talk about me and my friend in which Server 1 intended that table for us; however, Server 2 gave the table to their friends. Staff forgets requests asked by customers, and you will have to ask again. Server 1 seats me me and my friend at a table. She asks if we would like some water. We said sure. She comes back with menus and no water. My friend and I order our food, still no water. The food arrived, still no water. My friend had to ask Server 1, “Is the water coming?” Server 1 said it’s coming and then she gave us water. My friend asked Server 3 for a bowl of rice. Server 3 said no problem and walks away. 10 minutes later, there was still no bowl of rice. He asked Server 3, “how much longer do I have to wait for the rice?” Server 3 says I’ll get that for you. He comes back in mere seconds with the rice, telling my friend that it was free due to his mistake. They will serve dessert before your meal. My friend and I ordered skewers and a mango crepe, in which they were both delicious. However, the mango crepe cake came first and we had to wait 10 mins for the skewers to arrive. Staff is not attentive towards customers. The staff mostly focus on cleaning and getting dishes, which is completely fine. However, when I am trying to pay for the bill, I would prefer not to hold my card up for 5 mins. The card was up in the air, but the servers just walked by and didn’t look at us. Overall, I believe the restaurant is extremely disorganized and the service was horrible. However, I will definitely come back...
Read moreStopped by on a Friday evening, the front entrance was a bit confusing as it was one door leading into two stores. One was a noodles shop and the other is the tea house. We ordered skewers and three dishes, salt and pepper chicken, skewer pot (30 pcs) and beef and tripe. While we waited for our food, an inflated pikachu came walking around, I believe it was their weekend event. Then around 7pm this lady got up and started singing to the karaoke, she sang both Mandarin and Cantonese songs. Though I appreciate the live performance, I wasn’t expecting to be eating in this kind of atmosphere. The pikachu walking around looking for the other pikachu that is having trouble inflating was also really distracting and awkward. The songs she sang were old Chinese songs.
Turning to the food, beef and tripe was overly watery and not good at all. When they prepped the tripe they probably didn’t dry it well and just let the watery tripe mingle with the sparse sauce. The chicken plate was huge and it was pretty good. Now the skewers pot is the real problem, some of the skewers were not cooked and the small heat at the bottom of the pot was only meant to keep the pot warm, and it burnt out within 10 minutes. So we were left with some uncooked potatoes, cauliflower, seaweed and tripe… on top of that it was overly salty. After the check they did provide us with on the house jelly dessert and it tasted pretty good.
If you treat this place as a restaurant then it’s not worth coming. If you want to come here with friends and enjoy some drinks then try not to come on the weekend evenings, the music can get pretty loud. Not a good vibe...
