Had to review this place because I felt like 4 stars was too low of an aggregate score. I live around the area and saw the place open but never went inside. Now that I have, I can’t get enough. Get the pepper steak beef rice bowl you will NOT REGRET IT. Little pricier than other meals around the area but worth every penny.
The meals come with so many vegetables sometimes I lose count - perfect for a person that is health conscious and want to make sure they are fed nutritiously. Compared to the pieces of lettuce, tiny garden salad, or few pieces of Chinese broccoli you would get with other meals around here, this bowl comes with broccoli AND purple potato AND butternut squash AND cherry tomato AND bok choy AND tofu AND egg AND cucumber AND corn - all generous in portion - and set over purple multigrain rice. This all not to mention the steak - which I must say even if it were by itself would be soooooooo delicious. Cooked to perfection and perfectly soft/tender! Now add all the other vegetables, you truly can’t get a meal like this somewhere else. Worth every penny. Get it with the sesame dressing. Oh so good.
Also the green tea ice rice is fantastic. Honestly the best ice rice on 8th avenue hands down - which is honestly the size of a whole meal itself. Not too sweet perfectly slushed ice and every ingredient just made so right. I usually subsitute the popping boba out because I don’t like their artificial nature and exchange it for pudding. Which I’m so glad they let me do.
10/10 place.
I honestly could not understand the people that claim food is mid, but also maybe they just never...
Read moreFood was not bad, portion size seemed small but everything was filling. Atmosphere was cute, nicely decorated for Christmas. Cafe style but felt like I was in someone’s house. Staff made me extremely uncomfortable. I didn’t understand their initial question asking if we would like tea or water and after expressing that I did not understand what they were saying in Chinese, they continued only speaking to me in Chinese. And when I did not answer them in Chinese they scuffed and proceeded to ignore me. One of the staff spoke perfect English and was super helpful. The others however decided to hound me the entire meal, staring at me the entire time. Even after making eye contact with them several times as they continued to hover around my table. They did not service me at all. For the record, I am Chinese. I speak Chinese. I just did not understand their first question. Instead of being patient and waiting for me settle down, they decided to be rude towards me. Thank to the one staff that helped me when I was overwhelmed and repeated the question to me English in case I didn’t speak Chinese. Obviously don’t come to Brooklyn Chinatown expecting others to serve you in only English. I’ve been going to dessert shops and cafes in this area for over 5 years and never had any staff be rude to me over speaking in English. I speak and understand their Chinese perfectly including their comments about me. Will not dine in again. Only downside was that the milk tea tasted like the ones you can buy in...
Read moreA new small cafe/restaurant opened in the heart of BK Chinatown. A lot of food inspired from Japanese and Korean cafe/restaurant, but there are also some Chinese.
The vibe of the inside is truly splendid. They did a good job renovating and designing the place. They play good music that is calm plus it suits the vibe. The way they furnish the inside is very lovely and Korean inspired cafe. Love that the chairs are different.
It’s such a nice place to do your laptop work or study, but check with the owner/staff if that’s okay.
I ordered a New Orleans chicken breast sandwich. It took 25-30 minutes for the sandwich to be made but it is understandable since it is their first few days opened. I saw couple of phone call orders and pickups.
The sandwich tastes fine. Bread tastes like your typical white bread. The sauce and the chicken breast goes well! They also had a fried egg, cucumber, lettuce, corn, sesame and a sprinkle of seaweed. Overall, a fine sandwich that can’t go wrong but price point I say it can be more affordable. I can’t wait to...
