La Vigna — Restaurant in New York

I went to this restaurant a few times the food and service was good. I went back two nights ago,I ask the waiter for shrimp francaise he said we don't make that. I work at a diner and they make shrimp francaise LOL ! I said to him that's what I ate when I came the previous times. So I ordered stuff tilapia. It was nasty and the potato was like a rock. My friend ordered Salmon med it was well done. When we told the waiter, he got annoyed then he said, I will tell the chef to make the Shrimp Francaise. We went there to pay for our food not beg! They had no deserts the service sucks Food nasty. The quality of this restaurant went down.If you want to spend your money and feel welcome, this is not the place to go. I am never going back. We dine here every December for our union meeting/holiday celebration and it's a very nice choice for such a get together. The food is delicious, with four options in two courses soup, salad, fried and crusted mozzarella and mussels for appetizers. And tilapia, ravioli, chicken parm or chicken francese for entrees. They take a long time to prepare the yummy food but it's worth the wait. The only drawback for a large gathering that we have is the looooong tables which don't allow for great socializing. People who have given this restaurant a very good review. You should get out more. The food was ok, not good. Mixed up orders, nothing to jump up and down about and any Italian restaurant that doesn't serve great pasta should quit. The sauces were not there. I should ask what type of pasta was made because the was no sauce or favor of the sauce. Appitises was good and the dessert ok. Anyway , this one is not for me. I doubt that I would go back .
