i was in the bleecker hotel having dinner & drinks with my friends as we usually do and then decided to go with my gfs to laissez faire (been a few times as i live right in front) but this time the bouncer was rude , he kept on shushing us when we weren’t even talking, made us wait the longest time just to say how many are you and when we did, he is like you can’t come in and when we asked why he said he had the right of admission. he let the weirdest drunkest people in so i was puzzled and left. zero manners, zero criteria, zero reading of people and the crowd. i’ve been and it’s good but this ain’t jimmys at montecarlo for them so treat people this way and be so judgemental. i have traveled and clubbed my whole life and never ever had this situation. they should have different bouncers that can actually know what they are doing.blunncers that make you feel like they are doing you a favor when you are paying and trying to have fun, will...

Opens at 6pm (allegedly). I was excited to try this place based on the write-up in the NYT (now suspect), and some of the reviews others have posted here (also suspect). I reserved a table for 4 people at 6:30, figuring we'd have the drinks and light bites they advertise before moving someplace else for dinner. We arrived at 6:25 to find the place uncomfortably dark and a bunch of staff moving furniture, musical instruments, and sound equipment around the floor. The bartender was nowhere to be seen, and the maî·tre d' had no way to check us in. When I mentioned the 6:30 reservation for 4, they told us they were setting up for comedy night at 8pm and we could come back then, but not to sit in any of the reserved seats. We didn't find any of it funny, and figured that the joke was on us. Zero stars for all of it. If anyone is that desperate to be trendy, there are better places to go.
