This week, I just happened to park my car right in front of this restaurant. The big red banner with "Grand Opening" drew my attention. Since I needed to eat something anyway, I decided to give it a try. The two waitstaff greeted me with smiles and were very helpful. The place is clean and inviting.
I ordered the Nepali Chicken Thali and loved it; it even came with kheer, my all-time favorite dessert. The waitstaff were very attentive, checking up on me and topping off my water glass. The service and food quality were top-notch.
The menu offers a diverse range of Himalayan cuisines, including Nepali and Tibetan dishes. For those unfamiliar with Indian, Nepali, or Tibetan cuisines, here's a brief guide: Indian food is generally packed with masala spices and chilies, which might be too intense for some. I highly recommend this place for foodies and any food lovers. It's a fantastic spot to experience a variety of Himalayan dishes in a...
Read moreI am always down to try new momos and after seeing this place advertised as participating in the momo crawl, I was pumped to try it! Ultimately, worth the try and would consider getting more dishes.
I'll start by saying there are a lot of dishes I had never heard of. I love food from Nepal but I'm not so familiar with Newari cuisine and I was a little lost as the menu is extensive.
We got a bunch of momos to start. Pork chilly, beef kothey momo, steamed chicken momo. The pork chilly was our favorite. Great amount of kick to it. The jhol momo in the soup base was interesting- a little hard to eat but nice. I do feel as if the momos broke a bit too easily so were hard to eat in less than one bite.
For mains, started with the samay baji. I wasn't sure how this would be in takeout as the pics include tons of little side dishes. We probably would have enjoyed this better in person as it was a little confusing to eat. I didn't really enjoy the beaten rice but I don't think that's because of how it was cooked here. Interesting dish. The beef choila we ended up saving for another meal. It's somewhat surprising that this is served without rice. It's really quite salty to...
