Thought I would try out a small business in my neighborhood but I never thought I would have to come here and write about my atrocious experience. First of all when it came to making my appointment, they had a very annoyed tone when speaking even though I would be the one helping their business. I was running a little late so I called the salon to let them know and they were very rude, almost insulting me and hung up and abruptly. We agreed that it was okay for me to come 30 minutes late, and the guy clearly said ok 7 instead of 6:15 (which was the time I was supposed to come) and so I traveled another many blocks to get there after my busy schedule because he clearly told me it was okay if I came at 7 when I called about the lateness. I didn’t think much of it until I faced him in the store directly where him and another nail tech decided to verbally attack me saying I should’ve came earlier even though on the phone we agreed on 7 and I arrived at 6:43 so there was no need to literally kick me out. The man wasn’t even capable of having a full conversation with me, a customer who was WILLING to pay and a costumer to whom he clarified a booked appointment with at 7 pm after the phone call, considering the rude behavior. The man then decided not to speak anymore without giving me any conclusion which left me with no choice but to leave wasting about an hour on a nail appointment I couldn’t even have. They also claimed that they were closed at 6:53 even though their hours on Mondays are clearly till 8, by which time they could’ve perfectly done the gel manicure I wanted. When I did get the chance to do my nails there before,I was heavily disappointed at how unprofessional they were. They communicated with their finger, pointing me to where they want me. The lady who did my nails was dropping her tools left and right and was very unsanitary. The french tips I asked for were very uneven and my acrylics came out very crooked. During the process the lady cut my finger as shown in my picture and didn’t even apologize or clean the area before continuing so it was burning the whole time. When I informed her about the blood she disregarded my opinion and told me it would go away which it didn’t because the scar is still very visible. Overall, I would not recommend this place to anyone including my...
Read moreSome quick notes, but feel free to stick around and read my whole review:
-Clean place -Rarely any wait time -They mainly just do basic manicures and pedicures because there’s only 2 people who do acrylic or SNS powder -I’ve only done two pedicures here because they’re always rough and cut my nails too short -They’ll always try to charge you extra for the smallest things, even the shape of your nail -Some language barriers, most of the girls only speak Spanish -The manager (Cecilia) always has an attitude and looks very stressed out, just call and you’ll find out for yourself lol
Now time for my 2 star story:
Sad to say that the customer is never right at this salon according to Cecilia, the lady at the reception (manager I’m assuming). If you have any requests, this is not the place for you and be prepared for eye rolls from the manager..
I had been coming here for the past few months because my usual nail shop stopped taking appointments after 5pm and they are always extremely busy... but I usually only deal with Joanna.
The last time I made an appointment I had to go to Cecilia because Joanna was booked. Today, same thing.
Each time Cecilia just always has a really bad attitude, and is always micromanaging or critiquing every employee as if they don’t know what they’re doing in there, so it creates tension with everyone and you can definitely feel the bad vibes. Today was my last straw with this lady...
I had an appointment for an SNS set, and then I was told I would have to pay almost double for a color gel polish (which they put a clear gel polish on top anyway) so I decided to go with a regular gel manicure because SNS doesn’t have the colors I like. 2mins later while my SNS was still being taken off, I asked if they had an SNS color to match the gel polish I liked and they found one but Cecilia said she was doing someone else’s nails and I would have to wait till she was done. Mind you I had an appointment and was just getting my SNS taken off.
I decided not to argue with her, get my gel manicure, and...
Read moreThis place is amazing! I have been to every nail salon in that area of Jackson Heights and ever since I landed at this place, I have not gone anywhere else! Cecilia at the front desk always makes you feel welcomed and makes sure that you are comfortable. She is always showing the new things that they have which I love because I like to change my nails a lot and keep it different. They do their best at squeezing people in when they don't make an appointment but I definitely suggest you make one before going, it just makes things much easier for everybody. BY THE WAY if you scroll down the reviews, don't pay attention to the review from Michelle, because I was acutally there doing my nails the day she came in and she had a NASTY attitude towards Cecilia and the other girls from the moment she came in through the door, she kept changing her mind about what she wanted she says in her review that she wanted SNS but I remember perfectly that the day she came in she said "I don't want to do SNS here because it always gets messed up" (she said it loud enough for everyone to hear) RATCHET! and obviously they couldn't keep people waiting just because of her, ONCE she saw my nails and the color I picked, all of sudden she wanted SNS. Everyone is so professional here, my SNS set last up to 3 WEEKS! my mom does her SNS here as well and she has NEVER had a problem with it, mind you my mom works in construction. I RECOMMEND this place to all my friends and everyone who has gone there loves it.
ALSO, the comment that Michelle made about the language barrier lmao girl what are you talking about? YOU are HISPANIC and I heard you speaking Spanish. The non Spanish speaking people don't even have a problem. It's crazy when HISPANICS are racist towards...
