Very disappointed. I went to get my roots bleached and making the appointment was fairly simple. My roots were about 1 inch long and I asked before hand if she was experienced in doing roots only lift. She reassured me she was an expert. She used a charcoal colored lightener which I’d never seen in the past. My scalp started burning badly shortly after. It got to the point I couldn’t stand it and was trying as hard as possible to hold on. When she washed it off, my scalp was hurting a lot but we still hadn’t gotten to the tone we needed. She also informed me she was using 30V. I had to endure another round of bleach and take the burning on my scalp as long as possible and she wasn’t even sure if the hair was at the level it needed to be because of the charcoal toned bleach. When she finally poured the toner on my scalp, it burned so bad it felt like it was on fire. I immediately urged her to rinse it off, but she told me to hold on as long as I could until I started crying out. The end result was patchy looking hair. I asked her if I could come back for the toner, she told me she would have to charge me for it and I accepted although I shouldn’t have to pay more for something out of my control. I went back 3 days later but she was off and the receptionist told me it would be over $100 for toner because I couldn’t handle it that day. She basically said it was my fault that I went with “clean” hair. I told them it was 1 day old hair and I’d never had any problems in the past bleaching my roots like this. I left and I never heard back. The stylist had my number and she could’ve called to rectify the situation but she never did. We had also agreed on $206 when I did the consultation and she ended up charging me $256. I wanted to like the place but I’d never go back nor would I recommend.

I always have a great experience when i go to the Makeup shop salon. I do my hair with Norma and she always do a fantastic job with my hair. I recently had a balayage and a haircut and i love it. After the pandemic, my roots were so big and my hair needed a new style and Norma helped me get this done. Thanks so much Normita and i will be seeing you soon ❤ 🙋🏼‍♀️

Alex is brilliant, whether it's a cut, blowout or a complicated balayage. I have never been disappointed and always leave feeling beautiful and pampered. The salon itself is a very warm atmosphere, everyone is friendly and welcoming.

I have been going to the makeup shop for many years, I have referred customers as well. My husband and I have been clients of one of the employees - Norma she is a wonderful stylist and a good person inside and out. She is kind, caring and most of all professional she is reliable, great colorist knows exactly how to cut and style hair goodness knows I have made her go through so much with me changing thestyle of my hair and the color she is always patient does all she can m to please all of her clients she succeeds and excelled in what she does. I highly recommend her her work is above par!

The Salon is clean well cared for - the owner and staff are great always greets with a smile and before COVID a hug asks if you would like water, coffee makes you feel at home. Great...

2 separate stylists (Guillermo & Carlos) on 2 separate occasions gave drastically different haircuts - both equally pleasing. A walk-in's delight! In between cuts, I've popped in a few times for blow-outs. Interestingly enough, the pricing never changed much - blow out & cut vs. just blow-out (between $35 - $40)

I would definitely recommend this place - they are open six days a week. Yes, it certainly helps to speak Spanish (since most of the staff speak it primarily) but English-only clients shouldn't be dissuaded by this.

As with most places, this place is packed on Saturdays & Friday (all day). You're likely to have your pick of stylists during the middle of the week. I've never had to wait more than ten minutes. But if you're the antsy type, Starbucks is...
