I went here for breakfast. To start with the hostess seated me next a woman with a small screaming child. She also tried to seat more people next to us even though the restaurant was full of empty tables and booths. I ordered two scrambled eggs, bacon, potatoes and sourdough toast. It seemed like a standard breakfast. I only wish that it was good. When my food arrived it looked okay but they didn't ask if I wanted anything like ketchup, condiments, sauces or whatever. I had to ask for butter and jam for the toast which was not really toasted. It just was bread. I also asked for some Cholula sauce. First they said they didn't have any and the hostess brought me a miniature dish of Tabasco. When my server asked if everything was okay, I told her the truth that only the bacon and juice were good. She was nice and did find me some Cholula after all. I couldn't finish the eggs. They were undercooked and runny on the inside. The potatoes were hard and difficult for me to even stab with a fork. They were crispy, burnt, and cold. I tried to put cream in my coffee but their creamer dish didn't have a pour spout and it dribbled cream all over the table. I used the napkin I put on my lap to mop it all up. Then I discovered that my pants were now covered with white fuzz from the napkin... I mean dish towel. I had had enough of this place and I didn't want to finish my food. I was tired of the screaming kid, whose mother never tried to quiet him. I discovered that she was literally deaf - as she was on a video chat and using sign language - completely unaware nor concerned that her kid was screaming and throwing a fit. I would think the hostess could read the room. I would say she could have seated me away from them and in one of the empty areas - over half of the restaurant available. This was an unexpectedly bad experience. I left hungry. They did not charge me for the potatoes and eggs so that was nice I suppose.

Tonight we ventured out to an amazing new hot spot for dinner. Lele's Roman opened their doors roughly 2 months ago and based on the crowd, it is clear they are a fast and furious hit! This hip hot spot is decked out in gorgeous 70's inspired decor that sets the tone for a new spin on classic Roman dishes. We opted for the 3-course Restaurant Week menu and the amazing meal that followed proved the hype is well-deserved!! We began our meal with the Rughetta e Pomodorini, which was bright, fresh and perfectly dressed to open up the meal and the Suppli al Telefono, an elegant, delicious and perfectly prepared reimagining of a traditional arancini. We selected the Polletto al Mattone con Peperoni and the Branzino al Forno alla Mediterranea. The brick roasted chicken was tender, juicy and packed with succulent flavor. The Branzino was beautifully prepared, flaky, perfectly seasoned and accompanied by delicious potatoes and cherry tomatoes Last we indulged in the Apricot Pit Panacotta served with apricot, burnt honey caramel and toasted almonds. I have had many Panacotta and can truly say this one rivals the best I have ever tasted..even in Italy!! We also delighted in the Caramelized Puff Pastry accompanied by seasonal fruit and vanilla crème anglaise. This showstopper was not only a sight to behold but absolutely delicious!! The pastry was light and flaky and the crème anglaise was a sensationally creamy balance to the medley of sweet and tart fruit. Lele's Roman is an absolute rising star and should be added to any NYC must-try list!! I look forward to working my way through their beautiful menu!!

My husband and I went to Lele’s Roman Restaurant to celebrate our wedding anniversary, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. The ambience was cozy and romantic, the music set the perfect tone, and everything felt beautifully thought out. The food was absolutely delicious. The eggplant parmigiana was flavorful and perfectly cooked, and the spaghetti alla carbonara with guanciale was on point, a perfect concoction of rich, authentic flavors. The chef cooks amazingly, you can tell there’s real passion and skill in every dish. A big thank you to Aykut and Cristian, who were incredibly kind and attentive. They checked in regularly to make sure everything was perfect and that we were comfortable. Their warm, thoughtful service made the night even more special. The entire team was so friendly and on top of everything. We felt truly taken care of from beginning to end. We’re so glad we chose Lele’s to celebrate such a meaningful day. Highly recommend this gem. We’ll definitely be back!
