The food here is so cheap and amazing! Everytime I go here I can get full on the rice bowls alone. The dumplings are also very worth the money ($2 for 6 pc). The price is one of the biggest factors on why this place is great.
My complaint is that the ratios of the food is a bit skewed. I admit, for under $7 per bowl I shouldn't really be complaining, but me and my cohorts have noticed. On top, there are cucumbers, meat, sauces, everything! However once you dig through the layers you find that you are starting to eat more rice and less meat.
Atmosphere-wise the store is very cramped. When it gets full, waiting for your meal can get awkward. There is a little bit of a wait, but it is well worth it for the price and portions in my opinion.
Overall, this is a great shop with great food. It's not expensive dining, but the meals are simple, delicious, and fills you up.
Edit: It seems like they have increased their prices by adding a dollar to...
Read moreOMG I am so grateful to have discovered Xifu! It's right around the corner from where I'm staying and I will definitely visit again this week. Living in Beijing years ago, I would eat rougamo/rojiamo (almost like smaller pita sandwiches with meat and veggies from street vendors and the taste has never left my memory. The rougamo here are different than what I'd prev eaten with a lovely flaky pastry rather than the bread/bao I was used to but I didn't mind that at all. Here I preferred the pork rougamo to the beef in flavor but I enjoyed both. Two is probably a decent sized meal. I also ordered two types of dumplings and the flavor was great on those, too. Highly recommend for fast and delicious food at a decent price given other places in the neighborhood. Hope you enjoy as...
Read moreIm only giving 2 stars cuz the dumplings were good or decent atleast. I ordered the spicy sour boiled dumpling soup with noodles. The best thing about it was the dumplings. That broth was no broth, it tasted either watered down or flavorless. Now i expect hot and sour soups to be somewhat oily since chilli sauce tends to have oil in it but jeez was it oily. Yeah there was a kick to it in terms of spiciness but that was it lol no flavor what so ever coming from the broth. And its unfortunate since I wanted to like my soup. The dumplings seemed juicy atleast. I'll see if I'll go again but just for their dumplings. I dont feel like their broth will be any better. Like literally it was just dumplings thrown into...
