Long & Short Barber Co. (Downtown Brooklyn) — Local services in New York

I’ve been getting my haircuts from Christopher since he was at the Lower East Side location. I had initially gotten a cut from one of his colleagues, it was good, but it wasn’t I was expecting. My second time there, I decided to give Chris a try and probably the best haircut I’ve gotten.

I went to try and schedule my 2nd haircut a few weeks later and I couldn’t find the Lower East side location on Long & Short’s website. I was bummed out as I hadn’t gotten his number. I decided to try their Brooklyn location and saw Christopher had moved here as well. Haven’t looked back since.

Chris takes his time and gives you the perfect cut for you. Even if you’re not sure what you’re looking for, he has a great idea of what kind of cut would go well with your hair & head shape. I’ve gotten to the point where I don’t even ask for anything specifically, just let him do what he does - I know I’m in good hands.

First time coming to Long & Short Barber Co. in Downtown Brooklyn and Richard did not disappoint in the slightest!

Randomly passed by the shop two months ago and ran into Richard. As I was explaining what I wanted to do with my hair you could see and hear that he was genuinely excited about the cut and confident in what he does- that was the moment I knew I needed to come back to him.

With a few photos of how I normally wear my hair and what I would like to work towards, Richard was able to bring the magic and meld the two together!! (Before and after photos coming soon.)

Also, the Barbers that I met today were friendly and chill, the shop is spacious and clean, the music is great, and the pricing structures are a good value for the quality services you’re getting; the shot of bourbon afterwards is definitely a perk!

This place offers discounts for reviews. It doesn’t specify “positive” but no one is going to leave a negative review and go back for their discount so I feel like the average is artificially inflated.

My haircut was fine for the price and the staff are nice, but the wait was frustrating. I initially made an appointment that they cancelled the day of the haircut. Then, I made another appointment and didn’t get seated until 20 minutes after the original time slot. I get that people can fall behind when things get busy and everyone was apologetic, but the stylist repeatedly paused cutting my hair to chat with coworkers.

Again, it’s nice that everyone is so friendly at the shop but I also expect a business to respect my time when I make an appointment. Considering the strict cancellation policy for customers, I think it’s unfair to be so lax when they need to cancel appointments or when stylists are...
