Before I had a mini-me, this looked like a sad and uninviting little very urban playground which was more of a homeless hangout than kids' play space. Well, it's true that there's almost always a few down-on-their-luck-looking kidless grownups in the east half near the monkey bars, but in three years of regular visits there's never been any sort of problem or confrontation.
The bathrooms are sometimes unusably filthy, and there are often mosquitos after a rain - come wearing repellant. Otherwise though it's a surprisingly peaceful haven, with the eponymous trees giving a sheltered and natural character to the little space, and usually other families...
Read moreThis is more of a 5 year old & up playground... Too expansive for tots to play alone and it can get very loud because it's on a busy street leading to a bridge.. They have two toddler swings but that's the only benefit to them. There are signs posted that adults aren't allowed in the area if not accompanied by a child and that's understandable seeing that there's a fitness area & handball court adjacent to the playground with benches where you can easily spot people drinking and...
Read moreIt's a lovely place to take the kids. The children part is clean. The restrooms are clean and comfortable, when There's open. Handball court are standard size. The homeless people take up the seats outside of the Handball courts. The POLICE for always driving by. You can get a ticket for being in the park without kids or children. If you're playing HANDBALL, you don't receive any tickets. Other than that it's a great place to get a good game...
