I had a very unpleasant experience at this bar earlier today. While I was having a genuine conversation with another guest about local coffee shops in our neighborhood (that I initiated), the bartender interrupted, over-talked me, and completely hijacked the conversation to make it about himself and his own coffee experiences without being invited into the conversation. He stole the moment from us and dismissed my voice, and acted I was not existing in the seat when he excluded me and fought to control the conversation by raising his voice in an attempt to cover mine. It sounded personal, incredibly disrespectful and unprofessional. I genuinely can’t believe I experienced this type of person giving service. I even tipped well when I closed the tab the moment I ordered. At least, he should have faked respect for the sake of the tip.
Later on the rooftop, I witnessed another troubling incident. A group of white women stood on seats to take photos without being stopped, but when a Black couple did the same thing, a staff member came running out, shouting “No, no, no!” so loudly that everyone thought there was an emergency. The double standard and the way it was handled were shocking.
Between the bartender’s disrespect and the inconsistent way guests were treated, I left feeling disappointed and very uncomfortable. This is not the welcoming atmosphere a bar should have. Luckily, we have many rooftop bars in...
Read moreSome of the worst service we've ever had - we're hotel guests, and had issues getting to the bar from the guest elevator/had to use the blocked service elevator. Then, once we magically arrived, 90 mins before closing, they looked to be already cleaning up and wouldn't look at us, wouldn't seat us, and we had to go ask for menus at the bar. Then they said they couldn't take our order there because we were sitting at a table. It took a server 20 minutes to come over to us, during ordering she blatantly rolled her eyes several times, and when I asked about a deal for the bar I'd read about online, she laughed at me and said "I'm not sure where that came from," rolled her eyes again, and was visibly annoyed when we asked for water. The bar was also out of all white wines besides one gross Chardonnay and the waitress was impatient with us while we chose our alternative drinks (there were only two other tables of seated guests - it's not as if they were packed and she had other things to be doing). It's not nice when you pay a premium for a hotel and then are treated like a total burden by the staff. Will never...
Read moreMandatory 20% tip for 2 people! The Reviews are fake and written by staff/friends. Let me begin... My girl and I spent $65 on just 2 drinks and a very small order of wings (6 pieces for $20)! The drinks were disgusting! They looked cute and decorated well but tasted like gasoline and I paid $20 for both drinks so I had to force it down. We got there about 10min before our time and were told to wait by the bar as they are "transitioning" to serve people, yeah, that "transition" never came as we had to ask around as to where we needed to be. This place is utter trash! You will have more fun in Oscar the Grouch's trash can than in this sad excuse of a rooftop bar! Trust me, save your money and go to BBQ (which me and my girl did and got 2 Texas-sized drinks with a big meal to share for $55). Will never come back again!...
