One of worst experience to order and be at that place! Very unprofessional and rude staff, the lady I talked to was not at all helpful to even give information that when my order will be ready! She was just keep pushing on me that we are too busy and my order is not just ready, I asked if it’s not ready and by the time when it was supposed to be and whereas they had not even started to prepare so please cancel as I can’t just keep waiting. But after trying to inquire couple of time, she just has a sold pathetic attitude to say if I understand correctly or not that we don’t have your order ready!

Would never ever recommend not coming to this place again!

The least they should do is improve attitude to deal with customers specifically if you are tied up with more orders doesn’t mean you push the customer out...

Back with another professional review:

YOU NEED THIS! What good is there not to say about this classic Mediterranean restaurant. If you’re a fan of places like cava, you have to check out Roka while you’re in Williamsburg Brooklyn or, better yet, make a trip on purpose all the way from New Jersey, California or even Brazil like I did.

Pros:

Serving sizes are huge

Food is fresh service is top-tier and excellent.

There is a ton of value in the bowls and you will leave for guaranteed.

Employees are super nice!

Cons:

You can’t eat more than one bowl at a time because there’s way too much food

You may want to eat here more than two or three times a week, which could potentially get you tired of it, but I cannot confirm that.

10/10 value and...

I recently dined at Roka and had a salmon bowl multiple times, which included beets, quinoa, lentils, wild rice, pickled onions, and labneh sauce. I enjoyed the bowls thoroughly and would definitely order them again. However, I would not recommend the grape leaves, as their taste was significantly off, potentially due to the addition of nutmeg, which is entirely inappropriate for this dish. The baklava was clearly machine-made, lacking in both taste and texture. The rice pudding was overly sweet, which I found unpalatable. Additionally, the pita chips were excessively salty. However, the honey walnut cookie was delicious, as always. Overall, while I would continue to order the bowls and the honey walnut cookie, I would avoid most other items on the menu.

Very good flavours, fresh ingredients and decent value for the size of the portion (although in honesty I’d maybe like more than 3 falafel and less of some other stuff). What I would say though is that this doesn’t necessarily feel “modern” except in the sense that it comes in a bowl. This feels like very homey, rustic Middle Eastern food. I think there is still room within the concept to elevate the seasonings, pickles, etc for example there’s no sprinkle of zaatar or paprika, the pickles could be less traditional, etc. All in all very good! Just hope they can elevate and live up to the modern concept.
