It was okay at best....

First, which I didn't have a problem with, they would not allow us to dine-in until we showed not only proof of vaccination from the covid virus, but show ID to prove that it was our vaccination card. I didn't mind showing proof of vaccination, but I wasn't ready to show ID. Again, It's all good.

The place was not crowed at all. Maybe, two-thirds of the tables were vacant. The food was good. I had the Vine Burger. She ate Salmon and truffle fries. Regarding the burger, I thought that the lettuce would have been shredded, but it wasn't. It was just whole leafs placed on top of the patty. It was unappealing looking to me, so I didn't eat it. My Old Fashioned was the best I had since my arrival to New York.

The reason for two stars is because the service was extremely slow and negligent. My sister asked our server for bread to eat as an appetizer. Ten minutes later she wound up asking another server who proceeded to tell her how much the bread cost ($7.00, and all it was was a 7 to 9" toasted hoagie roll split in half). They served the bread, but didn't bring us plates to eat the bread on. We had to request plates, again from another server or it could have been a busboy. Again, we waited. My sister sat with an empty water glass for at least 10 minutes before she finally requested more water. My sister asked me if I would have liked to have dessert, but I told her I rather not because that would have possibly taken another 25 to 30 minutes before it arrived to the table. As courteous as all of the servers were, I felt as if we were a bother to them, rather serving...

This is also a neighborhood I tend to stay far away from. The picking around this part of the city is slim unless you want Irish Pubs, Massage parlous but then that’s not really eats I suppose. It was a dimly lit room with soft music. Easy enough for conversation or romantic dinner depending upon your mood.

Madison & Wine looked like comfortable reasonable spot for dinner to celebrate my friend’s new luxury apartment in the sky (rental). The clientele looked like a cross between hotel guests who didn’t want to venture far, gaggles of girls ready to go party afterwards and locals after work in the neighborhood. We had a table quickly by the friendly host.

We started with the warm artichoke and spinach dip with plenty of chips to share. I thought it was pretty good and usually there are never enough chips but in this case it was more than plenty. I like that. I decided to try the meatloaf. It is something I don’t make and I don’t even remember the last time I had some. Plus it was a chilly night so some comfort food seems about right. My fellow to be New Yorker who still really NJ but hey it’s a start got the ravioli. The ravioli was kind of bland seasoning wise, the pasta was a bit firm but the filling was quite nice. The meatloaf was seasoned well and had a good texture. It was the right pick for the evening.

Madison & Wine satisfied the dinner requirement and was an enjoyable meal in a subdue ambiance to enjoy the food...

I called one day prior to our department Christmas lunch and i have booked a table for 10 people. I called at 8:30 just to be sure that i will get a table. Apparently the manager booked it at 2PM. A couple of hours later he calles me for me to confirm the booking because they are super busy and i said that i am at a doctor’s appointment and i will call him back afterwards. I was literally in the doctor’s office talking to the doctor. When i called back nobody appeared to see my reservation anymore and laughed at me when i said 10 people. They told me to call back in 10 min to talk to the manager which i did but the manager didn’t pick up. Another person did. I was asking something and he would go back and forth to the manager to ask him what to respond. All in all he told me that the reservation doesn’t exist anymore and that the manager will call me back to explain because he is currently in a meeting. Which in my opinion it was a lie but I hanged up and waited for the manager to call and explain why did he canceled my reservation without asking me. Guess what? He never called me back!!! The lack of respect and professionality is beyond what i can imagine. A manager should know better before he does this kind of things. I looked like an idiot in front of my coworkers just because of his incompetence...

I had high hopes for this place, as I pass by it all the time and the enclosed outdoor seating seems great for people watching, which it was and probably the best part of my experience. I arrived around 445pm so the place was pretty empty. I was seated right away but then it took quite a long time for my waiter or anyone for that matter to greet me. It took so long I went looking for someone and that’s when they finally came to my table. I ordered the steak & frites (parm truffle ones) and when the waiter brought my steak knife, which he looked at as he presented it to me, and placed it on the table you can clearly see it’s dirty with food stuck on it. Of course he left so quickly I had to wait for a different person to come by to address the issue. When I got my meal I had to return the fries as they didn’t make them parm truffle like I requested. It was not a great experience from beginning to end. I don’t like leaving bad reviews but there were too many mistakes that shouldn’t have happened at a restaurant that was pretty much empty at the time. The food was decadent, nothing overly special about it.

Located the street corner and inside the Library Hotel, Madison & Vine boasts a welcoming and modern interior with creative dishes and cocktails. Arrived here late morning time for brunch, and it appeared to be busy but not yet packed. We were seated quickly and given menus in as little time. The decor includes copious amounts of wood, accented with brass throughout... Although the dining space is on the smaller side, it's all very appealing to the eye! We ordered a pitcher of sangria that also had bourbon and sage (some spice like that) and it was surprisingly good. Before trying, I would have never thought these things went together well. Great selection of wines and beers here, also. The food menu had creative takes on brunch staples, and what we ordered confirmed that they paid off in taste. I ordered baked eggs and dates with goat meatballs, and it was served in tomato based sauce. Someone else at the table ordered french toast crusted with Cap'n Crunch and he had nothing but praise for it. Madison & Vine provided us with a memorable brunch, and when we return it will definitely be on the list.

Im always happy when I fine gems like Madison & Vine in my backyard. Never had to go too far to enjoy a wonderful anniversary lunch with my wonderful wife. Both indoor and outdoor captured our eyes and seeing we had kids we choose outside which turned out more delightful than expected with the water feature and nature humming around us. Yeah I said humming as their beautiful garden did attract mother nature's finest (bees) but if you dont mess with them they dont mess with you 😉 I like that the menu was not convoluted and it offered a bite of everything. The drink option is INSANE and my kid had two mango mule.. ask for it you'll thank me later. I had the brisket cheese sandwich and it didnt disappoint. For "my" personal benefit i would have preferred a harder bread to hold more of the gravy from the brisket. All in all a wonderful spot with delightful staff, food and mama Mia the drinks 😋. If you like to be in your phone then this spot guarantees you no signal which is the perfect place just to be into someone other than a screen. This is definitely a good place and a good vibe
